I bought a spare RX-7 a month or so back, and the guy includes a Turbonetics turbocharger. It bolts up the stock S5 exhaust manifold. He bought a 13B from japan and it was bolted to the side of it. The sticker that tells me what I'd like to know is gone lol and I'm still new to the whole turbo world. I did some research and I think it might be a Knight Sports Hybrid Turbonetics... but I'm probably very wrong ha.
I'm mostly interested in from model it is, so I can see approx. the power it would/could make, figure up how it would affect the powerband, and I guess most importantly, help me decide if I want to swap the low-end-plentiful stock Hitachi for the Turbonetics.
I'm not sure how to measure the inlet turbine diameter... do I measure just the blades or do I measure the diameter of the inlet lip? Best I can tell, the numbers stamped on it are 4 PR0342, and 2 N5S 92P. Thank you guys for all of your help in getting my car running, and thank you ahead of time for anything you can tell me about this thing.
EDIT: I just measured the turbine itself and I'm pretty sure its 61MM-63MM.
You need to measure the diameters of the wheels and then some educated guesses can be made. The compressor housing comes off very easily. In theory the turbine housing does as well.
Knightsports does use a Turbonetics compressor and wheel like that, probably what that turbo is.
you'd have to measure the compressor wheel to be sure, but its probably a V trim. my compressor map shows ~48 lbs/min (?) at 2bar absolute (should be about 13psi at the engine, give or take)
power depends on things like the engine health, exhaust, intercooler, etc, but it should be about 320hp at the FLYWHEEL.

Thank you so much. Ill measure the c. wheel and see what I can find out. Thanks again. BTW, are Greddy 720CC injectors a good upgrade for secondaries if I use this turbo? I've heard a lot of people using 720cc's, though not necessarily Greddy. Thanks again.

they are a good upgrade, but probably not enough do more than 10psi with that turbo, in fact you might need a restrictive exhaust too.
you're talking about adding 56% more power, but only 11% more fuel
