Comp turbo CT6, triplex ceramic ball bearing.. yada yada

Well after a long wait, my turbo finally arrived. I purchased it thru Elliot @ turblown engineering. He is a very very busy guy and I'm a very very very impatient person. So he put me on his list of who to kill when he hits the lottery..

Anyways the turbo is top notch. Comp turbo has info on their site regarding this unit. It is a triple ball bearing turbo using ceramic bearings and just oil to lube it. The cartridge is billet aluminum as well as the wheel.

http://compturbo.com/products/ct6

I plan to run 20-25psi again with this new setup. Bryan @Rotorsports racing did a hell of a job building the motor and rebuilding the tranny. Pics and videos soon.

Crazy compressor nut! I've been interested in these turbo for a while, though Innovative didn't exactly have the best reputation for quality. They also offer cast stainless turbine housings.

nice turbo. I myself have been wanting to get a comp turbo now that they have a good rep and it seems the supra guys have good luck with them. Been pondering which one to get with Elliot @ turblown but I have to sell the fresh 6765 i have sitting here

That is true. I was leary for a while, until a customer of mine ran one without issue for 6+ years of road course racing. The real nice thing about comp is getting custom turbos built. Since they build their own bearing housings the possibilities are endless.

Hey I have a Comp Turbo GT35R triplex ceramic ball bearing as well. I purchased it directly from Comp Turbo in San Dimas.. It was a killer deal when I got it. Awesome turbo.

Hmmm.... Is that supposed to be a trick question..!!! LMAO Yea It's on the car as it's depicting in photo #2. I gave my FB a major overhauling this year. It was fired up for the first time 2 days ago and I didn't have a chance to drive it yet since it's still at the shop. It sounded pretty tight. To be honest with you, I heard nothing but good things about Comp Turbo. It's ranking #1 as of now amongst other brand name turbos. Two thumbs up for you Jo (Comp Turbo Owner)

Ps.. Will let you know in a day or so of its performance..

Nothing major. Put it on the dyno just to see. No high boost runs yet. and no meth used on the runs.

It did 359hp/294ft-lbs @ 13.5psi..

I am gonna get it back on the dyno soon to see what she can do.

Well it was a big error on comp turbos part, and they are fixing it, just hope they do it the correct way this time.
Issues were the original turbo came with a oil restrictor that was supplied by them. First turbo was awesome for about a week. Well the turbo wasn't getting any oil, restrictor was too small. Shaft play, blades hitting the housing, etc. So I sent that unit back and they did warranty it. Thanks Jo and Justin. Well I received the second turbo, which actually was the original unit just repaired. Well guess what! That turbo was hungry as well and ate itself. So now I'm waiting on my third turbo.. and I told them if its not new its going back and I will want a full refund. So far each transaction has taken a month. They got the turbo last Friday, so we will see how long it takes this time.

I can say all parties involved are being helpful as of now: Elliot, turblown... Justin and Jo @ comp turbo. So I will keep u guys updated as how everything goes.

Wow I know how you feel; I hope they sort it out. They should off just give you a new turbo from the start instead of messing you about. It’s good that you are posting this up as it will help protect your fellow rotor heads If they don’t do a good job!!

I'm actually being nicer than I should. The customer service thing is kinda up in the air. ;-)
Once everything us said and done and I'm completely satisfied I will post everything. Both have been helpful and disappointing at the same time. I run a business and try to treat everyone the same way I wanna be treated.
