It's just a matter of time before they delete it. They just haven't seen it yet.
You are not allowed to disagree with them.

Is Ray's price list on that site? I signed up, but haven't found the list there yet.

mods- any explainations?

1) I didn't do anything with the Malloy threads, and I don't know where it went. While the vast majority of mod activity in 3rd gen comes from Mahjik and me, we are not the only ones who can change stuff.

2) I don't know why everyone is complaining. Malloy has a phone number, call them. Ray offers consistently good prices - it's not like those lists are clearance sales. If you don't want to call there are parts lists to download and there are other websites that take a Mazda part number and punch out a price. Malloy will usually beat that price. What else is there?

3) If you want to know more about what's going on regarding site strategy, ask someone with a bold lettered name. I (and Mahjik too I think) are not involved in site-wide moderation policy. Generally whiny threads like this could end up closed because it's not directly related to 3rd gens, not because I disagree with anyone's opinion. There is a feedback section. Someone could just drop the whiny tone and ask a straight question in that section.

Speaking for myself, I work only in 3rd Gen. I move a lot of threads. This is a busy subforum, and I believe it works best when it stays true to the content. Some people have PM'd me when I move or close a thread they care about, and I don't give them a hard time - I explain why I did it and I feel I've generally been quite consistent in those actions.

haha daaaaaammn. Thread moved and cleaned of all links to www.disney.com...

sad, really. We aren't even allowed to spread the word of where people can get the help that this forum is pushing away. Let me know when Internet Brands starts reselling RX-7 parts so that maybe we can get a goddamned vendor over here.

The more I think about this the more it pisses me off. This site is still a HUGE resource of technical information, but it has evolved into a money making scheme rather than a community oriented forum. Pretty sad IMO.

I understand the need to generate enough revenue to cover the hosting costs, but I would guess that the ad revenue from the banner ads and intellitext come close to covering that. I don't have any experience hosting large websites, so I could be off... but I would love to be proven wrong with evidence.

Also, the rules state that you cannot post any links to vendors that do not sponsor the forum. I don't really understand why they are stripping the rotary car club links because that is not a link to a vendor. That website is not about making money, actually quite the opposite. Maybe I just missed something in the forum rules??? Seems like sour grapes to me.

I have in my hands two new FD products made by small companies that don't pay to advertise on this forum. I would really like to post a quick review of these items to help other members... hopefully I don't end up banned from the website after making those posts. We'll see...

BTW, this thread was moved into the wrong section... It should have been placed in the "comments and suggestions" sub-forum. This thread is about RX7club's policies, not Ray at Malloy Mazda. Mods, could you please move it into the correct section?

For all involved:

#1 Ray decided to pull his advertising from the RX-8 club first. He felt there that he was not getting what he paid for. When he decided to drop that advertising he also pulled it from here and from the 3 club. He decided to do that. Not anyone here, but because of how he felt slighted on the RX8club.com. Not because of anything here. (I repeated that multiple times because I know some rotary car club members that also participate here don't have the greatest comprehension skills, and rather would believe that some evil thing trying to personally screw with them).

#2 He pulled any advertising or sales things. It had nothing to do with this club at all. Much like Kevin at Rotary Ressurection he decided not to make the links for his technical info.

#3 links to another competing board are not allowed here. Generally the links will be deleted, but members that continue to abuse and post links to another board, will get warnings and be asked to leave if they don't heed the warnings.

#4 Since Ray does not have a competing board, if someone (other than a Malloy Mazda employee) wishes to post a link to his technical page or on how well Ray has treated them or some great sale, that is fine (and frankly encouraged if it helps other members out). Ray does have about the same prices as you can find locally, but that you can order over the internet and save your local or state taxes in many cases making the cost to order even cheaper, sure is a great benefit to any Mazda owner.

#5 Sorry Matt, this thread was asking about Ray and Malloy Mazda... it is not a comment or suggestion. You can PM me if you have a further argument on why it should be moved as I won't discuss it in this thread.
