FD3S: New Undetray for 99 Spec Front Bumper... Possibly others?
This product is made specifically for the 99 spec bumper. It is made of 3 separate pieces mounted together with nuts and bolts.
I'm sure this will work with after-market bumpers as well with a bit of adjustment and creativity. The face that it comes in 3 pieces helps alot. http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/2...iffuseril8.jpg Price: FRP $150 Carbon $225 Shipping is $25 to the lower 48 states. |
Anyone local interested in picking up the first one... hit me up. Free installation :)
i can pick it up.. but no need installation. but want to know if this will stick out? like this: ( where the black part under the bumper sticking out ?? )

Looks good. I'm guessing there aren't any pictures of it on an FD yet?
Not yet. Need a local customer with a 99 spec front.
This undertray definitely does not extend beyond the bimper. |
Here's an example of how a 3 piece undertray is convenient for adjustments

Did mazda redesign it recently or something? Or is this a custom higher-grade version that will fit OEM '99 bumper/layout? I have a '99 bumper waiting to be installed (after motor work) but haven't picked up a '99 undertray. Yours looks great! My current '93 has a lot more curves and grooves (quite fugly compared to yours) and I' assuming this version you're selling is lighter and appears to be more streamlined?
its an aftermarket undertray

Shipping to PR is $50
Shipping to Canada is $50 Let me know. This is a relatively new item, so there wont be any install pics any time soon as we have not had a local customer with a 99 spec bumper make a purchase. Ken |
My stock one is gone, I'm in.
interested. Would like to see installed pics.
Do you have any undertrays for the C-West front bumper?
Will this fit with your Sanai or Burnout bumper?
I am sure it will fit the Sanai or burnout bumper, although we havent tried it. It looks pretty close to our undertray.

http://arkonite.com/dynamicme/content/mazda_rx7_02.jpg that is actually a front spoiler not a diffuser! this is a diffuser http://www.japanparts.com/images/Ima...base=1&no=5189 but shine i really like the design, i just wish it was a little thicker for the air meaning the paths of airflow a little thicker & deeper ( its a little to thin) if you know what i mean |
the link u provided does not work..!!!
would it work with your feed bumper?

https://img266.imageshack.us/img266/...efromdbju7.jpg go to www.japanparts.com. put in your make & model and for parts manufacturer put mazdaspeed. its on the bottom of the page. but like i was saying. on the front of the front diffuser it has to be a little thicker to fully function. Im still getting this one but im just giving you a reminder. I perfer function over form Just remember that a front undertray (diffuser) doesnt have to have so many paths, the whole point of the front undertray is to get the airflow flowing in the right direction so that the rear diffuser can give the downforce it needs! thanks again shine! https://img255.imageshack.us/img255/...ersweeptv6.jpg https://img129.imageshack.us/img129/...rsweep2xw4.jpg |
Interested, would also like to see pictures of it installed. How does this fit up and mess with the 99 spec lip and front sway bar?
Adam |
if it fits the feed r bumper add it to my order
If you haven't found a guinea pig by March I will volunteer my car. I plan on doing the first Redline Time Attack season opener at Buttonwillow on the 28th and 29th. I plan on driving down to Cali on Friday the 27th. Maybe we could meet at the track install it and see how it does in a track enviroment?
Adam |
The 99 undertay in my opinion works better with the Feed bumper than the other undertray we offer.
This item is being sent out to a gentleman in NY who has agreed to install and post pics so lets hope he comes through. In the meantime.. we will try this on a few aftermarket bumpers. Ken |
any pics installed yet, I'm interested in buying one really soon. Wanna see how it looks first on the car.
Don't know how I missed this thread, but I am also interested. Waiting for pics.
Mike |
any progress being made on this?
hey Ken,
I sent you a PM, I want to pick up a CF one on Saturday Feb 21 |
i got mine two days ago. should have installed pics in a week or two.
it wont hinder the cooling?
Any pics of this badboy yet? Installed that is...
Looks nice but I don't know if it will fit with my v mount as the radiator sticks out at the bottom. Ken do you guys sell replicas of the 99 body kit?
So did we ever get any install pics? I'm pretty interested... Thanks...
where's the pics?
I got the CF undertray. I'll be over there on Saturday May 9th Ken, for the install and you can snap some pix for these eagerly awaiting people.
I'm running the 99'spec front, 99' lip, and a big front mount, in which I had to hang my radiator lower then specified.... so hopefully it will answer everyones questions. The product looks GREAT! and feels solid too bad no one will ever see if from under your car. |
need to place an order
Any pictures?
pics?
I'd still like to see this undertray installed on a white FD with the '99 front, like mine...
many picture were taken yesterday during the install. should be up soon.
Ken has the pix. so he will mostly likely post soon. clears a lowered fluidyne radiator and large greddy front mount just fine. along with relocated power steering lines, just needs to be a 2 man job. makes great use of the 99'lip air dams and the grooves/contours flow directly to the brakes. for the 99spec. drill the holes that connect the 3 pieces together. Those are good. fro the front holes on the undertray, do not drill those, they do not line up to anything, you will have to mark new drill points. you can either drill at the bottom of your lip or use the same center bolt positions as the lip (what mine is). |
Ken pics plox!!!!
Hey guys.. By the time we were done, it was too dark. This might be the best pics I could get.

Broken link?
I'm installing this now but how does the tray attache to the lip? I can only get the back two holes mounted but it seems there is nowhere else the tray attaches to the car?
