FC3S: RE-Amemiya Rear Diffuser ..... who's in?

Just curious. Would like to see a list of who's interested in this rear diffuser.

FRP Rear Diffuser $375

CF Rear Diffuser $450

Shipping $100

DarkKnightFC 07-24-06 03:33 PM

It might take a while to get that kind of cash but I certainly want in on it. I would be interested in the center diverters not necessarily the side things. Any info on what those do as far as aerodynamics anyway? Thank you for getting this peice.

Juiceh 07-24-06 03:46 PM

I'd be in for this. CF version available? Got any close up pics with the generators\diverters on it? I can't tell if the pics shown have them or not, doesn't look like it.

shineautoproject 07-24-06 03:52 PM

The CF version will be pricey. $625. without the center diverters or generators.

I'm not sure if the RE-amemiya FC diffuser ever had the center diverters and side generators. Our center diverters and side generators for the FD are different from RE-Amemiya ones because we customized it ourselves. We can do the same for this FC diffuser.

Aerodynamic benefits of center diverters and side generators??? Not sure.... possibly a more balanced air flow?

Ken

DarkKnightFC 07-24-06 03:53 PM

The pics don't have them, but it would look almost identical to the one for the FD.

Icemark 07-24-06 03:58 PM

Do you have any better pictures from the side??? Myabe a profile picture...

Trying to get an idea of how low it goes under the body

DarkKnightFC 07-24-06 04:02 PM

How much would the center diverter be? I might just rivet some metal strakes on it.

EDIT I can see the shape of the center diverter maybe speeding up airflow because it opens up towards the back perhaps creating less drag.

monterx7 07-24-06 04:20 PM

interested. and interested on the center also

Well considering Ive been asking you about these for like a year now lol. Definitly in...its about time :).

Oh, and keep up the great work!

SmogSUX 07-25-06 03:49 AM

Can someone circle the side pieces and center piece mentioned above?

shineautoproject 07-25-06 10:55 AM

Here's a link to the side generators and center diverters that we made for an FD rear diffuser

owen is fat 07-25-06 11:41 AM

okay I see, the side generators bolt onto the end pieces to make an extra channel, interesting.

what time frame are we talking about here? I'd be in for just the diffuser if its at least another month or more before we need full payment.

shineautoproject 07-25-06 12:30 PM

we're working on the diffuser right now so it should be done soon

-=Lil Red=- 07-25-06 12:47 PM

is there going to be CF option? or you are not gonna make them CF?

shineautoproject 07-25-06 01:05 PM

CF is custom order only. $625.

shineautoproject 07-25-06 01:36 PM

I will take one of these with the center diverter in about a month or so. Will I have to mod my exhaust like the pic tho? Here is what it looks like now.

Oh, and here is another pic with your lip. I like it a lot.

Here's the HUGE canisters on my car...

shineautoproject 07-26-06 02:13 PM

some diffusers will have to be cut depending on your exhaust. That is done quite often.

Juiceh 07-26-06 02:31 PM

No, your exhaust is similar to the second pic so you shouldn't have and issue.

I think the reason why the exhaust is modded and raised so high in the first pic is for equal airflow on each side of the diffuser for even downforce. Note the second pic, see how much area for airflow on the left side of the diffuser that the muffler blocks? Because of this the right side of the diffuser might create slightly more downforce. Weather this is needed or even noticable, I doubt it.

Hmm, I wonder how bad the fitment will be with the bigass RB REVII turbo canisters.

shineautoproject 07-26-06 03:31 PM

http://img107.imageshack.us/img107/9...an02008cm3.jpg

the diffuser is definitely for an FC:)

Apexn1 exhaust. no cutting required.

SayNoToPistons 07-26-06 04:55 PM

are those replica tested to be functional?

shineautoproject 07-26-06 05:26 PM

Well the one you see is the actual RE-amemiya one. Whether or not it has been tested to be functional, who knows. We just know we can make it 99% the same :).

Ken

trinimazdax 07-26-06 08:56 PM

when

when will they be ready im goin crazy over here i want it for my car =)

Falcoms 07-27-06 04:08 AM

I'm in depending on the time frame we're talking.

EJayCe996 07-27-06 04:31 AM

I'm in.

RevUp13b 07-27-06 05:04 AM

Hhhhmmm.... what if i have a GReddy Power Extreme Catbabck???? Does that mean its impossible to put on?

Stanello 07-27-06 07:14 PM

Anything is possible with enough time, money, and effort.

shineautoproject 07-27-06 08:01 PM

theres always cutting that have to be involved if your exhaust is too big......

let me show you guys a picture.

RevUp13b 07-29-06 08:20 PM

^^ that looks small compared to a GReddy PE, lol

Its not the air flowing on either side of the tunnel (green) that creates the downforce. Its the air flowing directly thru the middle(red) of the tunnel that does it. Simple aerodynamic test: Take a strip of paper 6inches long and an inch wide and hold it up to your bottom lip on one end. Blow straight out and the paper will rise up because of the air flowing across the top of it. Thats exactly what the tunnel does except its upside down. Therefor sucking the car down instead of up.

Juiceh 07-30-06 09:39 PM

^Yup, I was wondering when someone would finally say something. Yes the MAIN function of the difuser is the suction effect created by the underside. However the green areas you pointed out I believe are angled with an upwards curve at the rear and the airflow over them does help to create some downforce too, which is probably why that one pic has the muffler so high up. But yeah the majority of the downforce is created by the suction created by the middle section.

shineautoproject 07-31-06 07:59 PM

This diffuser is done guys....... any locals interested in buying this and taking pics? I lost my camera so there won't be any pics for awhile.

LookThatsMe 07-31-06 10:25 PM

hey shieautoproject i have a quick question... i want the diffuser but im getting the gp sports drift body kit for my car and i was wondering if this would include cutting/modifing the rear bumper for it to work? is there a group buy? if yes whats the deposit? the diffuser comes the way in the 2nd pic (orange)? pm me

shineautoproject 08-01-06 01:45 AM

I highly doubt this will work with the gp sports rear bumper without some major cutting. The gp sports rear bumper is low as it is. This diffuser wont survive one day.

No group buy. Just straight up price.

Funkspectrum 08-01-06 03:03 AM

the diffuser will not work with the GP rear bumper.

EJayCe996 08-01-06 03:21 AM

one more thing, is this just regular FRP or the infused FRP?
