SEMA and Seven Stock in one week?! Couldn't get a better time than that!!

t-von 08-30-13 12:29 AM

Gonna be one hellacious week. Leaving west Texas to go to Sema then SS. Cant wait!!!

waysho 08-30-13 10:34 AM

word of advice for people bringing their 7 and staying at a hotel: stay at one WEST of the I15 freeway. Fontana can be a sketchy place at night.

DivinDriver 08-30-13 10:38 AM

Nice. Can't wait for details.

Now I'll have to WASH it again... heh. Got behind a food truck coming back from the MPH meet. Ew. Greasy crapwater all over.

A little longer please :)

FD3Schick 09-06-13 04:02 AM

I've stayed in Ontario before when going to Fontana. Lots of decently priced hotels and restaurants, and not too far from ACS.

RX7_GRL 09-06-13 12:06 PM

Wow, it has been 20 years of the FD in America. :) Nice!

After a quick search, I see that the closest hotels are about 15 mins away or are there some that I just don't know about? (ie on site)

twinturboteddy 09-06-13 12:55 PM

Here already! Going to try to make it.

mdpalmer 09-06-13 03:30 PM

Very nice venue. Are there going to be any track/autocross related stuff going on? Would be a shame not to... :)

Rotary13B1 09-06-13 04:08 PM

More details will be posted by Sunday hopefully. We're at the Speedway for one or two reasons... = )

I haven't been to a sevenstock since 2004. Have you guys come up with some kind of forum member identification process? Back in May, I attended the Fd testing event that Gordon Monsen sponsered. I hated not being able to put a forum name to a face. You walk around a group of people who share your passion yet, they feel like strangers. :( I told David Hayes that I thought it would be a great idea to have the forum members make shirts of their forum avatar with their user name on top and the forum your associated with. You could put your real name on the bottom. What do you think? I'm gonna do this myself since these get togethers are like a family reunion. Hell if a forum member wanted to offer this service, I wouldnt mind paying $20.00-30.00 for it. :)

T,

Our club used to host the Big List RX-7 Forum Happy Hour just before the banquet. I'd bring nametags and people could write their REAL name and FORUM name on their tag and wear it during Happy Hour. Since the banquet stopped a few years ago I haven't been bringing my name tags to the event, but I certainly could do that again. I'll talk with Bern and see if we can't maybe set up near the stage with nametags for anyone who wants to fill one out and wear it during the day. I agree, it is NICE to meet many that you've chatted with and shared ideas over the years. Unfortunately, if someone doesn't make a concerted effort to EASILY identify each other, you realize the day after the event that many were there who you really wanted to contact.

P.S. Plus, if we do it with nametags, it costs individuals NOTHING, which frees up more money to spend on the RAFFLE!!!
