gave the vert some water.... my radiator needs to come a lil faster.. this buzzer is annoying
|
Not directed at Eddie...I just looked how other people mounted them as well and none of them seem to use the lovely stock locations that eliminate to drill into your car. Once I locate something to fill those holes the rubber stoppers go in it will be even better!
Hey California...GTFO and got to your own section! Ha, ha! |
LOL...screw the stock holes...that's why I have a drill. Mounted that sucker so I could step on it. When you have as much power as me, you need that thing to be secure at speed LOL.
Now if I can only start the damn car again...:) |
LOL...screw the stock holes...that's why I have a drill. Mounted that sucker so I could step on it...although I have bad knee so a 7yr old girl in a wheel chair has more power in her legs than I do. |
Eddie why dont you go back to running people over in that minivan of yours lol I thought I was about to be car jacked by the yakuza
|
Kevin..nice quote.
Mark..Yes the Yakuza is coming for you...your GI Joe Cobra Zartan Camo is easily spotted. My car.....is.....ALIVE!!!! Went ahead and started it 10 times in a row. The culprit...shitty ground wire, failing circuit breaker armature, loose positive wire. Summation: EPIC failure on the power supply. |
oh..I went ahead and added a FEED tow hook to the front just in case...
|
haha
|
Actually put one of my door panels back on. Waiting for Mark to give me intakes.
|
dropped car off at tranny shop for diagnosis and upgrades as needed. Also to look at my IAC..car sometimes dying coming off of gas into neutral...had to heel toe to the shop this am to keep rpms up between shifts. great.
|
did you possibly lose the tune?
|
possible...should have at least idle relearned but don't think it would have lost its map
|
Darn unreliable piston engines.
|
sidesteps, really really cheap knock off diffuser. new calipers. blacked sidemarkers and reverse lights. Aside from the headlights all set for ifo. an hopfully a vmount
|
|
I honestly think 99 Spec lip, CF sidesteps, and a rear diffuser are the best, inexpensive, visual upgrades you can make to your car.
Throw in some suspension, mirrors, and if wings are your thing for a 2nd stage of upgrades...the car gets really aggressive looking. |

i might re ground my car today if it doesnt rain
and that digital camo looks badass |
What did I do to my Rx7 today? Nothing! Absolutely nothing because my car hates me! It turns over, sometimes. Other times it doesn't. Sometimes it has power from the battery, other times not so much.
Seriously though, I replaced the secondary injectors. I still need to replace the primaries which means the intake has to come off. Fun. Some thing is terribly wrong with the wiring in my car. The previous owner had remote start and an alarm and it was wired all retarded. I do want to say thank you as always to Andre (dres customs), Jake (who doesnt have an account on here), and Sam (dont know his name on here). Hopefully next to time we can get it fired up. |

I slapped my new turbo manifold from Rotaryshack on the block to see how it would fit. Now I just need to rotate my turbo housing to get the drain @ 6:00
Here's to progress:beer: |
Checked on the status. Hopefully idle issue is a question of bad circuit breaker and idle relearn.
Tranny mount bushing was TOAST...completely busted...tranny angled down about an 1" from where it should be. Probably the source of the difficult shifting and vibration. Skip shift elimination in. Should have her back by this weekend. |
installed pfc, but the banzai commander holder didn't work since is a 94, parts coming in for my single turbo conversion.
|
Finally was able to get the cold side intercooler piping and couplers to install the greddy elbow. A little bit of WD-40 and spray paint can go a long way, thanks Simon :icon_tup:

It was a nice weekend, so I took the 88 Vert out for a spin. Hoping to do the same this comming weekend.
|
picked up a lsd today, hope its in good shape and can I get a bump from anyone who hates a TPS.
They should put TPS next to every check engine light definition because thats what it is every time, shoot you could have a flat tire and change your tps and that will fix it. Sorry I had to vent a little. F'in TPS's |
LOL...amen...F the TPS...I remember those days
|
Got rid of huge Apexi intakes and added K&N's yesterday. Pulled my IC pipe that has a BOV flange and currently have an Apexi BOV curing on the pipe for installation tomorrow.
|
Fixed my boost leak, hello 14psi.
|
hello 14 psi...that what you said to the red one...lol
|
Hahahahahaah!
|
Went to the warehouse and started it. Also grabbed the paint code so I can have the mirrors painted for it.
|
"..Please start, please start. click click dam." Is this the morning ritual for you eddie?
|
Ahahahahah! Touche!
|

For the Alternator I got the puley with the Rotor engraved on it.. Much nicer than plain..:egrin: |
Yea i totally agree. I really like the srmotorsports alternator pulley with the acorn nut but its kinda pricey. How much was the one you got?
|
$99 from Pettit.
it was the last one he had in stock.. |
tranny buttoned up and in operating order. New polythane mount, rear seal, lubed bushings. Starter issues resolved.
Idle issue...remains elusive...damn gremlins! |

Eddie, I am curious, what was the final resolution for the starting issue? |
Over the past few days... Ant commenced the tuning last night. Was nice going to 20 psi without going lean at an 13-14 afr yaya thats low for boosting but its beater, will most likly tune for 16psi.
Changes: Simplfied seq, all new vac lines New plugs New wires New intake tubes RX7store v-mount kit, I am rather dissapointed in vs other kits. However its the beater so who cares. JDM TYTE high temp hyper orange spray on the uim 4pt strut bar brace, havent drilled the firewall yet. https://i53.tinypic.com/67nmmo.jpg Sucks we couldnt tune it enough in time for tonight, was going to transport to orlando for the CFRC drift event but ran out of time :( |
20lbls on stock turbos? Yea...that's going to last long! =)
|
Nah its the 99's, Nothing wrong with that. In non-seq people push them to 22 for good power considering and put down awesome 1/4 times of course not a daily-able. They already are leaking oil so meh, just waiting for the motor to chuck a seal so we can rebuild that car with a big single.
We are having charlie brown make us a custom 62-1 turbo, its going to bolt onto the stock t2 maifold. To the unsuspecting eye we could trick them into thinking it is a stock turbo system from the t2 fcs. This is for the red car. |
looks good Mark..thought the vmount would sit higher than that.
Car starts 100% of the time, runs fine, idles at 850-900 for a bit then...dies...as if you just turned the key off. No codes showing up, fuel pressure seems ok..IAC seems ok...mechanics still working on it....anyone wanna buy my car lol...sigh. |
