Another one sporting a hoodless FD
Where's joe when you need to him to greet the out of towners. Just like Rambo I

88AMG 04-23-13 12:15 PM

Yes really, and its a fc not a FD.

che'srx-7 04-23-13 12:42 PM

^^ don't get sensitive about it, i understand the other members, i am against swapping the rotary for a piston, but if youre dead set on doing it, a 2jz is a bad ass engine, i am myself dropping one on a 71 240z.

Took off some more of that tar stuff left over from the insulation. Should be completely done by this weekend.

Just finish checking my new turbo manifold and turbo for fitment.

Elliot @ Turblown makes an awesome manifold.

sleepers4life 04-23-13 07:23 PM

I too, am contemplating a 2jzgte in my fc... for the reliability factor.

And here is winner #3...... Spoken like a TRUE dip shit...... You sir are NOT a Rotary fan..... Just stay on that band wagon you jumped on and get the @*%$ out of the SE section.....

Just a bit of knowledge for you...... Reliabilty on ANY motor is ALL dependant on who builds it and who tunes it..... It has NOTHING to do with the type of motor....

There....you just learned something NEW for today....:balls:

 OOOOOOKKKKKKKKKK! :icon_tup: and no shit dipshit. i did say contemplating. BY THE WAY ! s4 - s5 swapped fc project. however i dont deny the 2jz its fame because, it is among one of the most reliable when fully built an boosting hard! YOU JUST LEARNED.... something new today. :egrin:

sleepers4life 04-27-13 11:03 AM

ok ok no reason to be rude here, i will post pics of my project up very soon. i have an 87 tII i have 2 blown s4 engines and just got ready to pull 1 out and swap with an s5. i threw around the idea of a 2jz for the fact the bottom end will hold up to like 800HP for 50 - 100000 miles in alot of cases. And, that alot of race events wont let a rotary compete with piston engines. AND the fact that a 13b with say 5 - 600 hp is only a low 14 - 18000 mile engine... especially in the case of competative racing! i love the rotary dont get me wrong, its small easy to work on and capable of big numbers. i love it. but the 2jz is no joke man!and thus i explain myself:dunno:

i also threw around the idea of a 1jz, 302, ls1, rb25, f20, and even a ka24.... why? because i have the time and i just simply can! but i landed on a 13b s5 or a 20b. and chose the not as costly, 13b s5.

A rotary engine will last more then 18,000 miles, if it's build well & no cutting corners. Most who claim other wise really don't know the engine very well & blame it on the engine but the truth is you Failed. In the end we have to be responsible for what we know and don't know and learn from it point blank. Every engine has it's soft points & the 1jz & 2jz are known for their bearing issues, because of their torque they mushroom bearings at high RPM. My point is swapping out one issue for another is not fixing the problem nor are you learning what went wrong for the engine to fail, just my .02 either way good luck just out of respect for us don't post pics of your piston swap thank you Chris.

You obviously haven't been to Puerto Rico...

ghost1000 05-03-13 05:46 PM

Sleepers4 life.

The 2jz trans gear is all wrong.
The only engine/trans other than a rotary that will work is the ls1. It has a .5OD gear compared to the 2jz .8OD gear

The guy who taught me to tune blow through is from Puerto Rico. His rotarys will make more HP for less money and last longer than any piston engine.
