How many of you are doing Parade laps on Saturday?

We can either do Jeffrey's or we can do the Zaxbys on the way into Road Atlanta. BTW, I'm gonna have to do Saturday only. Inlaws suck.

for the out of towners,.. How should we go about finding you all once there? Anyone specific to ask for?Any # to call to find out where everyone is parked? We will probably bring the FC ( FD tires won't make the journey)

Hopefully the wifes trial settles before this weekend. That way we can relax and enjoy the sounds of rotors!! Can't wait. See you all Sat and Sund hopefully.

It looks like we'll be able to park in a corral, but I'd prefer to watch the race from Spectator Hill, if possible. If y'all have GPS, we could always geek out and go with coordinates :)

Can we do a premix at the Cracker Barrel or Jefferies so I can get myself oriented? I need someone to follow.

I suggest we meet off of exit 129 at I-85N. The Zaxby's and Cracker Barrel are on the wrong side of the road to cross traffic and head up to road atlanta together. How about we meet in the small shopping center just past the McDonalds? I think there is a Dominos pizza there. I suggest we leave that parking area no later than 8:30AM. So get there earlier, get your gas, food from whichever place. That way everyone can park in the corral together. If you don't have tickets already you can get them at the gate. I would suggest getting inside and parked, then get parade or tour lap sign up.

I talked to Jim and he said he would try to let me know a time we can all stop by the MAZDA racecars and he would speak to all of us. Free HANS hat at the end of tour.

Ray, you can do just the map, but the race course won't show up. At the top-right corner you can choose between "MAP", "TERRAIN" and "SATELLITE". Satellite will show you the track, map and terrain will show how to get there.

Departure for Road Atlanta is 8:30 from the parking lot area just past McDonalds on the right side or Hwy 53.

I assume it is OK to bring coolers into Road Atlanta with food and water. I noticed that track has a no alcohol brought in policy. What's the deal? Do they sell beer there or is this completely dry?

It is a written policy that has never been enforced. As long as you do not try and bring in a truck load nor end up dancing in your birthday suit around the track....you will be ok.

No Cracker Barrel for me. But I will check with Ian and Billy to see if that is what they want to do for breakfast, if they are showing up that early. I can't tie up some loose ends until the last minute.

Is anyone going to be there Sunday? I might go depending on whether or not I can change a clutch in a day... and drive 6 hours to RA (from where I'm installing the clutch).

What class(es) do the Mazda rotary cars run in? I am trying to figure out what time we need to leave to get there for that. ( The main and most important reason for us wanting to go;)) We are debating coming down friday night instead of waking up at 3 or 4 in the AM to get there early enough.

We will most likley be in the Viper Yellow S5 with a supra style wing on it. I have the #'s you all gave and will call those when we arrive. We can't wait to see all the badass cars in one venue..

Anyone know if the FURAI will be there? That would be too damn cool!

I wish I could come down but too much going on here. My cars on the stands as we speak for some brake maintenance and I have to do brakes and bushings on my wifes BMW as well. I'm not even sure I can make it to OGTA this month come to think of it. I may have to wait and come down in June with Stu.

OK, Crit sees through the smoke screen, neither the White One nor the Silver One will be down off the blocks this weekend. I might even miss my first OGTA meeting if they don't start behaving themselves.

I was about to suggest that you just come out to the Mitty on Sunday. AND you still can hitch a ride with someone and come out on Sunday to not miss the 4-rotor racecars. This is a rare opportunity Ray.

And we will not accept you missing the OGTA meeting. What do we have to do come and pick you up? The wife will let you drive the protege, won't she?

Looks like we may have to deal with some rain tomorrow afternoon. I am bringing a canopy we can set up, if we have room. It is more for sun than for rain, but we'll have it if we want it.

And, don't worry about Ray missing OGTA. I will drive out to Jefferson and get him, if need be.

I'm taking methadone shots to combat the rotary withdrawal, it ain't pretty. And I'm not sure watching other rotaries race around the track while mine are sitting in the driveway will help the situation. I think I'd better sit this one out and get those cars back on the road.

Holly, the darts are about the Mitty. Apparently the Mitty has it's roots in British motor car racing, MGs and stuff like that. Brits like to hang out at the pub, drink guinness and shot darts. Almost makes me wish I still had my MGB.

And do you really think I could show up at OGTA in an MP5? After harassing you about driving your M3 all the time?

With any luck this weekend I'll have the Silver One ready to go so Mike doesn't have to come pick me up.

I went up the Road Atlanta late this afternoon. We should meet at the Wendy's at Exit 129 off of I-85N. We will leave at 8:30AM to get up to Road Atlanta and park in the MAZDA corral. For those who know Road Atlanta the corral is just across the Suzuki bridge and the 1st corral to the left. There is a Japanese flag there. The MAZDA racecars are just down the hill at the beginning of the front straight, in the pro pits. I'm thinking we can all go down to the pits and watch Jim drive back in with the 792P tomorrow around 10:30 or 11AM.

When you purchase your ticket to get in, get an infield pass to be able to drive your car in and do the parade laps.

Hi Alan and Troy. I'm glad you guys are coming out. I know that Darthrotary and R1Chard have already purchased touring laps. The 8:30AM time is to meet on Saturday morning. I figure by Sunday people will know their way in. If you are only coming on Sunday we can pick a time again. Alan, I will trade you my rotary watch for your GTU :)

There's no way in hell I'll be able to get there... besides the fact it's raining like a mofo, I don't have the transmission down yet, and I might have to get the flywheel machined, plus I've got a lot of other stuff to do on the car (oil change, new engine mounts, etc).

C.Ludwig, EXP1787, and I came down from Louisville for the weekend. I took several pics but won't get them online til I get back home. Greg, it was great to meet you. I'm glad to know the '84 SE went to a good home.

How many of you guys were there? I walked around both sides of the track and didn't see much of a turnout of Saturday. I didn't have a chance to walk around on Sunday because I was at Mitty for work. Saw two NA FCs, one black? FD, and a few rotary race cars.

Well, all in all, the overall weather was nice. You guys live in a beautiful area. Everything is green, although it was killing my allergies. And Road Atlanta is an awesome track.

Awsome event everyone!! Great to meet all of you. Everyone is really nice. We had fun doing the touring laps and trying to represent the 7!:D We were in the Viper Yellow FC(n/a) We followed Richard(?) in his 93 red R1. And was followed by Alan is his rediculously clean FC GTU!! Apparently we almost burned off the factory paint on his bumper with our flamage!!:D j/k..

Next year the FD and FC will be there.!! Now, the summer just needs to rip by so we can get back for the Pettit.

If anyone who was on track did not already get your photo's that were taken,..do it. It is pretty cheap and a great memory of a great event!! Plus you can see all the hot exhaust vapor distortion behind us when heading up thru turn 1!! Awsome,. wait did i say that already!!. And do I even need to say anything about the 2, 3 and 4 rotor cars out there!!still drooling

WOW between Saturday and Sunday everyone, except maybe one, that said they were going made it out. Plus we saw a few other 7s we did not recognize. They were from GA, one in Union County and one in Fulton County, both of those were FDs. The one from Union County GA was a Petit TKT 3-rotor. Nice car. The other one from Fulton County was a dark blue. Anyone meet these people, or are they on this forum?

I was nice to meet Dave and Elizabeth, glad you guys love the track. Nice to see some old faces and meet the new ones.

I wish more 4-rotors would have made it around the track.
