I may be there Saturday and Sunday.

I have a very minor hand in coordinating it. I will however be there working it. If you give me an approximate number of cars I can try to get an area reserved.

I finally got those waffle wheels I bought off of Donnie last August, and some new tires mounted. As such, I'd definitely be down for some parade laps.

I think we ought to move our monthly meeting to the Mitty. We should meet up at the corral and then roll over to the other Jeffrey's in Braselton for some "food". HAHA, we should go-in together on an OGTA banner to rep the club while at the track.

Holly, any clue what cars Downing is bringing? If you could organize a pit tour for us that would be super-sweet. I'd love to get really close to any of those cars.

I hope you will be back out again on Saturday to meet up with most of us. I think Jim is bringin his white RX-3 that he used to race. Not sure if the Car & Driver RX-2 is coming out or not.

The old green 4-rotor Kudzu is now on display at Jim Ellis Mazda on Peachtree Industrial. It is supposed to go out to the Mitty and it will be racing.

I will try to organize a pit tour and see what Jim's schedule is and if he would take the time to talk to us. I will get more details next week.

So far, at least 10 should be bringing their RX-7s. How long can we keep adding to it?

Holly

HadaGSL-SE 04-23-08 07:47 AM

I will be out there Wednesday for the initial setup. As you know Mazda will have a large display so I will attempt to put you guys close to that.

I'd say you can keep adding to the list until Tuesday around 5pm. Thats the last time that I know I will be able to check. It would also be nice for a break down on which days people will show up. Saturday or Sunday.

Again I will do my best to have a section for you guys but I can't promise anything.

4-Rotor MAZDA race cars arrived in ATL

WooHoooooooooooooo!
I arrived at work this morning unable to park until the Hauler unloaded the racecars from MAZDA. The 792P, GTO & MX-6 arrived. Hopefully I will be hearing that 4-rotor sound for the next several days, until they go up to the Mitty.

Guys you have to get your butt up to the Mitty to see and hear these rotaries go around the track. Mazda is going to have a good showing of the historic race cars and you cannot beat the sound of them all going around the track. You will wet your pants.

Holly,
I sure did pick the wrong day to come out to see the place!

You all can count me in one of the days. If there's parking with the group, I'll bring out the 95 White Single turbo.

Which day is the best day to come out?
Best,
John

Ha! I haven't seen the post but it is good to see that Holly has me on the list. I will be there Saturday and Sunday for sure! I bought touring laps for 2 days. Hope to see everyone out!

Donnie I should find out more this coming week. But if it was like it was 2 years ago when Mazda brought out all the racecars... Saturday should be the day that they will be racing in force. It is possible some will race on Sunday, but I bet all would race on Saturday. Plus I'm going to check with Jim and see if he will find a time slot on Saturday to speak to all of us as a group. I will try to get all of us HANS hats too.

ray green 04-25-08 05:54 PM

So if we need to pick one day it should be Saturday? What's this about about touring laps, is that something I want to do?

ROTORX7Holly 04-26-08 12:34 PM

Ray you have choices. Parade Laps are free, however you must get there early and sign up for them. Touring Laps you purchase and are hotter laps, but you cannot pass. Touring Laps are $35 for one day and $50 for two days. Go to http://speedfest.classicmotorsports.net to find out more.

Holly

ray green 04-26-08 02:34 PM

I'll shoot for the parade laps, I want the viewing stands to have plenty of time to admire the Silver One. And Saturday is the best day?

ROTORX7Holly 04-26-08 03:20 PM

Here is some samples of the 4-rotor sounds

ROTORX7Holly 04-26-08 03:20 PM

If you are only going one day. Saturday will be the best day.

dbragg 04-27-08 02:32 PM

damn, im going sunday

ROTORX7Holly 04-27-08 09:21 PM

Several of us will be going both days. Sunday should be a good day too. Donnie do you plan to do the parade laps on Sunday? If so, I encourage you to get there early. In the past you had to sign up at a tent before a certain time to get in on the parade laps. The best thing is for everyone to there well before 9AM each day.

seipherzero 04-28-08 12:26 PM

def. trying for Sunday, May 4th

ROTORX7Holly 04-28-08 01:16 PM

I'm excited! I just heard the 792P 4-rotor start up in the shop. WooHoo!

Holly

msimonov 04-28-08 06:39 PM

This is shaping up to be fun. What do you guys think about meeting some place early Saturday? We can all park together and see what the scoop is for the parade laps.

R1chard 04-28-08 07:36 PM

That sounds like a good idea to me. I was planning on heading over to Holly's in the morning but perhaps we should meet at Jeffery's in Suwannee before hand?
