THIS IS TRUE! if you stay on there too long you start lookin at v8 cars and wondering how much spray you can put on it. |
I have always been a drag racer at heart. I never went out and bought R compond's for the auto x or such. Been thru nitto's DR, BFG DR and 2 set of et streets!! First car I had was a 84 gt350 then a 76 cobra II w/nos next a 91 GT before I went to rotaries... I will never knock the turning stuff just never really was into it. I like to feel HP and I think its pretty obvious what direction my car has gone.
If DGRR would have been a drag event I would have closed my store down for the weekend!!!! and Gilgamesh.......V8 in my rx7 will NEVER EVER EVER EVER happen....... I have scene a few that were done nicley around but its just the easy way out for those that do not have the knowledge to do it with the rotary. In fact I believe the Hinson twin turbo solid rearend bulit to hell V8 is still slower by a good bit compared to the top roatry 13b's out there. I think there best pass was in the 8's were Timemachines 2nd gen has gone with 13b and IRS rear..... |
oh i wasn't talking about v8 rx7s lol i was talking about z28s and TAs and such lol
i think you need to go to steele and bust of a 9 second pass thats faster then the you tube video of "noah's turbo ls1 rx7" and its a auto car. once you get to where you dead hook id love to see you put to shame kyles supras time, and that v8 turbo FD |
9's are so tuff from what I see on an FD w/ IRS. Seems I have the power but would need to loose some weight, get the suspension dialed in, add a 2 step maybe go with a solid rear. Going auto would shave over 1/2 second.....HMMMM.....
|
damn... just no motivation on my side to put the new clutch/ tranny in. jacked it up tonight then set it back down, then jacked back up again and said forget it and called it a night.. I got to get it done if I want to go to IFO may 31st..

Speaking of working on the car I got my water inj. installed. Seems to be working just from tests, but I haven't got to drive the car due to the rain to see if it actually makes a difference.
|

Chris, I got my Coolingmist stage 1 kit Tuesday. I haven't installed it yet, but I have to get a few more components first. What kit did you get? Do you have any install pics?
It came with a 500cc inj. which I found out yesterday is to much for 10psi ~300hp and straight water. It did cool the intake temps from 66c to 46c in about a lap at TGP, but it severly cut the power down and caused some stumbles. I do think 500cc with a 50/50 mix running around 400hp is probably ok, but I haven't tried it yet. I'll try to do some pulls this week sometime to see how it acts. It does use the 2qrt tank it came with very quickly. |
So your Coolingmist stage 1 kit came with a tank for $200? Wow, mine was $200 but didn't come with a tank.
But anyway, did you install a solenoid at the injector? What about a return line back to the tank? I plan to wire mine in a similar manner except have the pump wired to a switch in the car and a solenoid at the injector wired to the boost switch. I had also thought about running a return line so the mix would continuously circulate when not injected since my tank and pump will be in the rear of the car. I just need to find a suitable 3-way solenoid to handle that pressure. Also, how can you tell what size injector you have? I selected 361-500 hp on the order screen and they said it would be matched accordingly. I also plan to run 50/50 mix. |
I actually got if off ebay from coolingmist for less than the normal price. It was cheaper to do it that way then to buy directly from them.
I just installed it as is. I do think you have a good idea going. It would be more instant and probably better for the pump if you could just let it run and have a solenoid open and inject as needed. It says somewhere on one of the email reciepts it came with the 500cc injector. I told them I would be making around 400-450hp. You could always email and ask they respond very quick I've emailed them 2-3 times asking them about the kit before I bought it. |
getting the drive to go run a mid-low 10 now...... Tranny clutch job starting tonight........
|
so I go for a walk today with the wife and on the way back up the driveway I see a 4-5ft rat snake on the side. Kinda spokes the wife.. No biggie as I grew up having them for pets and I told my wife when we built our house in the woods there would be snakes. But tonight I go to take the trash out and notice something in the diveway again... 2 copperheads!!! I had one of my boys with me and one of the dogs.. Sent them all in and catch both in a garbage can and take them over to Don's yard!!!!!!!! Have fun with them Don!
|
Ha ha... I don't like snakes!
