Steve Kan Tuning

We have 2 cars that are ready for tuning here in Atlanta. We need at least 3 other people for tuning. Price will be 350 per person plus dyno time. Please reply.

showoff 03-03-06 05:43 PM

when do u think the date for this will be? i need atleast a rough estimate...

AbadR1 03-04-06 04:22 PM

I believe the Bham 7 guys were trying to get him to come down, maybe if you get together with some of the guys in Bham that wants to get tuned. I am sure you will have enough people to get him to come down. I guess than both interested parties can decide to do it in Bham or ATL.

NVMYRX-7 03-05-06 01:51 PM

Count Me In

I’m in Savannah and would like to get a chance to tune with Steve. I just need to know about two weeks in advance. What are the dates that you are planning on having him up. I’m in Savannah and I would drive to Atlanta, but not all the way to Alabama for the tune.

NVMYRX-7 03-06-06 05:18 PM

bump

20B10AE 03-06-06 09:29 PM

Assuming I get my minor problems (wiring, I think) taken care of and if it's before Deal's Gap and in ATL, I'm in. I simply can't make the trip down to B'ham from up here in SC.

Me needs me 3 rotor tuned. :D

showoff 03-06-06 11:01 PM

thats 5rx7's that need to be tuned.....
rotarynut= you think you can get the ball rolling now that we have 5rx7s that need to be tuned so that we can get a tenative date???

fastrotaries 03-07-06 08:37 PM

I'm down for ATL. I just need a date, to be able to confirm attendance.

NVMYRX-7 03-08-06 09:05 PM

Somebody say the date and time.

gcbutter 03-12-06 09:13 PM

I'm all over this; Reese we can roll down there together. I would love to see the 20B in action (pre-tune/post-tune)!!! I would like to get my FD tuned as well. Time and Place please. Who ever is setting this up in ATL, what do you guys need to make this a reality? Just Curious. I still need to upgrade my injectors prior to having the tune done. At 12 psi I'm at 80%. Reese do you recommend anything? Remember, I'm the guy with the red FD (TD0620G single) just in case you forgot. I already have a 20B fuel pump.

Brick 03-12-06 09:51 PM

I have 2 FD's that need to be tuned. Steve already has my money, as I was signed up for the BNR tuning session (that has been postponed twice). If something can be set-up for ATL, that would be better, as I am local.

- J

Bryan@BNR 03-12-06 11:18 PM

Hey J.

Sorry about the postponement. If you guys want to do the session in Atlanta that is fine with me. I am slammed right now so I won't be able to attend.

Pluto

What would be the actual date of the tune and where. I was wondering if it would be on the weekend or the weekday? How do you prefer payment? I'm in Savannah and all I need to know is where and what date.

Brick 03-13-06 08:19 PM

I'd prefer earlier than July, if possible...more like late May, early June.

We tried to book him in June but his schedule was full. Not sure about May.

darkphantom 03-13-06 08:29 PM

so whats the official date so i can plan my day off of work to drive up there!

Brick 03-13-06 08:41 PM

BTW - Where specifically would this be held?

pluto 03-13-06 10:06 PM

I was thinking about the weekend of 9th of july

20B10AE 03-13-06 11:05 PM

A weekend in ATL works for me. I was hoping to have the tune done before Deals Gap but this will work fine doing it in July. (More time to save up, too!)

Oh, one other thing... do you prefer dyno tuning or can you do street as well? Wideband supplied, etc? Just trying to get some ducks in a row up here.

Reese

showoff 03-13-06 11:49 PM

Yea I was hoping for a little earlier as well, but if this is all you have and everyone is ok with it then I guees iam 2 lol

-dj

Brick 03-13-06 11:54 PM

I can do July 9th. Mark me down for 2 spots.

I was wondering the same thing.

rotarynut 03-14-06 08:52 PM

tuning

sorry guys i have been busy. i cant wait until july. i want to run at the nopi drags next month. i am actually ready right now. any else?

pluto 03-15-06 08:38 AM

the earliest i can be there is May 13th weekend. I'll need at least 8 cars if I'm bumping you guys up two months ahead of time. Unfortunately, I can only goto so many places per month and I really don't want to schedule more than one event every 3 weeks. Also, I just realize that I have a conflict tenative date with the NYC group on July 9th weekend. If May 13th doesn't work with you guys, either your group or the NYC group will have to get bump back several weeks. the sooner you guys get the people, the better it is to lock down the dates.

pluto 03-15-06 08:40 AM

On a relatively stock car, I actually prefer dyno because it takes 30 mins just to change out the wideband and I could use the dyno wideband to do the tuning. As for as tuning in general, I prefer street because it is real life condition instead of simulated.

You can read the FAQ on the website for tuning info.

darkphantom 03-15-06 09:56 AM

what ever day is good for you steve. Im just waiting on an official date so i can start planing.

if the dates are that hard to get to then y dont we just have a poll on what dates you guys want to have!

pluto 03-15-06 10:49 AM

Well, from experience there're always people drop out due to the project not completed on time. It is easier to plan ahead of time so that everyone has enough time to finish up with their car than to rush them just to make it to the dyno. I have groups that plan the tuning session as early as 6 months ahead of time. Most of the schedule you see on the site were made 3-4 months prior. It might be better for you guys to lock down a date and see which is better for you guys. I can only travel if I don't have a conflicted schedule and/or too close to another tuning trip. I also know that the Montreal groups wanted sometime in May or July. This is why I made a site to help organize these events. :)

I can make the 13 May date. We just need 6 more people and it's a done deal.

gcbutter 03-15-06 04:17 PM

I'm not to sure about the 13th May date. Still trying to figure out what I want to do about my fuel upgrade (1300's or full 1600 kit). I will let you guys know when I find something out.

+2 On May 13th

Brick 03-15-06 07:54 PM

I will have to re-arrange a few things, but I can do May 13th if necessary. I have 2 FDs that need tuning. Steve already has my check, so consider my 2 "confirmed". Somebody should start a list to keep track of how many we have. By my count, we only need one more...

Now, that we have enough people what is the next step. I really want to make sure that this is going to happen as planned. I'm sure that sending money is going to be the next step. I would feel a lot better about these dates once everyone has sent in his or her money. That way no matter if some one has to back out for whatever reason, we still know that Steve will be coming down to take care of the rest of the cars, so who do we send this money to??????? I have check, credit card or cash in hand and waiting to confirm this date. I'm dropping the car off today at RotorSportRacing in NC for my LONG AWAITED Medium ASP intercooler and will have it back next Friday, so I might not be checking the forum until Saturday or Sunday.

darkphantom 03-17-06 03:38 PM

YOUR NOT THE ONLY ONE WHOS GETTING HIS CAR TOGETHER!

question for you guys. you think i should go ahead and get some newspark plug wires or the ones i have will do!

Aaron Hupman 03-17-06 08:14 PM

A new set of Magnecore 8.5 or 10 mm wires would probably help to stack the deck in your favor, and you would unlikely have to replace them. Given the effort and expense of the tuning, it only makes sense to make sure the ignition is 100% for the occasion.

Aaron Hupman 03-19-06 12:14 PM

Are you guys still interested in getting this set up for May 15? Activity seems to have faded a bit, and I hope that won't put this project in jeopardy. I have mailed a check to Steve for one spot, and Brick has paid for two. I imagine there will need to be more cash ponied up to get this off the ground. Please don't drop the ball-- I really don't want to wait until July, or later.

Aaron Hupman 03-19-06 01:11 PM

I spoke with Steve on Friday, and despite what is on the forum, the May 15 date seems very much up in the air.

I sent him a check just to get locked into whatever is eventually arranged.

I would really like to see thes happen on May 15. Not sure what else I can do to help make it happen, other than to encourage everyone to pony up the $350 ante.

I made my check out to Steve, and sent it to him c/o Gotham Racing, 5621 Main St., Watauga, TX 76148.

Something to consider-- this will probably be a very popular session, and late comers (late to pay) may lose out.

Steve-- please correct me if any of this is wrong.
