I am lousy at fractions, can anyone add that up for us? I don't think it beats the 6.5 1st gens we had the other day.

Oh and I can do fractions. The ANSWER IS ... 5.5, or 5 & 1/2.

:) :) :)

James, is that Juan Delgato's Datsun? And you had a nice 1st gen.

ABCDEfb 09-08-07 11:01 PM

You got it Holly! That is Juan's car. I took a bunch of pictures of it because he wanted to make t-shirts with the car on it.

ray green 09-10-07 03:50 PM

James and I held a brief Old Guys meeting out on 85 today, driving north through the construction at the 316/85 merge. He was in a big ugly SUV and seemed to be having problems with the steering, kept holding the wheel up to the window and pointing at it like I should know what to do. Hope he made it home.

ABCDEfb 09-10-07 04:14 PM

HA-HA! I was showing you my new Bride steering wheel that I bought for the FC. It's the little things that make you happy. I played hell trying to catch up to you for a few miles, then the next thing I knew you were behind me. The ugly suv was actually a pickup truck, necessary essential for hauling things. Good seeing you again!

P.S. Really, clean up around your exhaust, looks like your car has a nicotine problem. j/k:rlaugh:

ray green 09-10-07 05:08 PM

Couldn't tell it was a truck, only saw you when you honked as I went by and then again, briefly, in the mirror. And yes you are right, the rear end is a bit dirty - it's that 110 mile daily commute. But there's no way you got ahead of me, unless it was when I stopped to help that little old lady change her tire.

PS nice steering wheel! Can't wait to see it installed.

Hey. Juan built the motor in my T2!
It runs soooo smooth... yet so quick!

ABCDEfb 09-11-07 02:11 PM

Austin, I really wanna see your car! We have mutual friends but have never met. At least I don't think we have.

ABCDEfb 09-12-07 06:34 PM

Now do you believe your being watched?

Haha i was wondering who the heck that was!!

Yeah man i was limping around town, im about to go put in a working boost gauge, and i still have a dying clutch master cylinder so its acting up in traffic lol.

But yeah that was me. Hard to miss with the mismatch wheels, and big ol' super drager tip!

Austin

Austin get your butt down for the next OGTA meeting, sounds like you've got an interesting vehicle there.

dbragg 09-15-07 09:55 AM

WHELP, my GSL got totaled yesterday RIGHT in front of my apartment due to me trying to help someone stalled out in the rain. it was my fault, so now i have to part her out of sale her whole to someone who has the time to fix her. im debating bringing my SA down to oakwood, but itll probably have to wait, due to insurance costs. im picking up a 93 ranger with 45k miles on it tuesday.

oh yeah, i had the car sold today to. i was going to meet the guy when this happened.

oh well.

ABCDEfb 09-15-07 10:37 AM

OH CRAP! Damn, I feel your pain. I can't believe it. I have no words. Actually I have many words, none appropriate for the mature audience of this forum. Wow. Please go get the SA, insurance can be worked out (try safeauto).

ray green 09-15-07 10:38 AM

Ouch, that looks just like what I did to my brown 85 GSL, pulled out in front of a Buick because a guy in a pickup truck waved me by. Hope this doesn't mean you'll be missing the next meeting.

The carcasses of the brown one and the tan one are going to the scraper today, I guy up in Lula is coming down. They were nice rides while they lasted:

ABCDEfb 09-15-07 10:50 AM

Wow , you wasted no time getting it up on craigslist, take some of the money you make and insure the SA. BTW, I'm heavily interested in the rear end, was it LSD?

dbragg 09-15-07 03:59 PM

haha, yeah im a broke college kid. so i need money. i already got it towed to my house in toccoa for $150, ouch, but i had to pay it. i picked up all kinds of rx7 goodies while i was there that will be going on the forum or ebay soon. cause im a broke mofo. i have two people interested in the rearend, my neighbor in toccoa who has first dibs, dysfunctial85, then you.

yes its LSD. its 4x110, and is filled with royal purple.

ray--ill try to not mix the next meeting. i cant really be too demanding with work though. im already having issues with them with making me close on nights i have test early the next morning so i dont get to study. if i happen to be off the day of the next meet, ill be there in my ranger.

i had to fire up the ole SA today to move it so i could park the FB in a good location. i was VERY tempted to bring it back with me. ill research safeauto, but id rather get it insured with a classic car insurance company. that way i can afford full coverage and ill get A LOT more if it gets damaged, plus full coverage is only about $200 a year. bad side, i need to be able to park it indoors. if you know anybody with the space for it, let me know!!

Jeezus 09-15-07 04:20 PM

Sorry to hear about the car man, It looked like a real beauty. Let me know how the insurance goes, Nationwide is dicking me around with the RX here, if I get in a wreck I will only get about 600$ from it.

dbragg 09-15-07 04:37 PM

see, thats why i dont want a regular insurance company. thats why im trying to find a place i can store it in doors.

Wodihor 09-16-07 01:48 PM

AWS what you need is the 83 that I have so that you can swap motor and rear end. The car has some rust but would put it back on the road

dbragg 09-16-07 07:19 PM

nah, im going for a truck and the SA

ray green 09-16-07 07:39 PM

That SA would look nice in Jeffrey's parking lot.

dbragg 09-16-07 08:55 PM

i know. im debating bringing it down. im just not 100% sure its road ready, plus the problem with insurance. if i could find a place to store it indoors, itd be down here now. the guy im supposed to buy the ranger from has started acting shady and i cant get ahold of him. if that falls through ill probably be forced to drive the SA. i just hope i dont regret it.

ray--i got your email today. im pming you now

Haha im going to try and make it to the next one. My car is kind of interesting, mostly because im broke so fixing it comes interestingly in itself :rlaugh: .

Long story short, stock boost gauge stopped working and started reading like 30lbs and such.... Installed a mechanical 2" gauge, but mounting is a bit ghetto. But its out of the way and i car sleep knowing im still only at 12lbs LoL.

AWS: That sucks about your car!! I noticed you are in oakwood, but the car is in toccoa?? If i read wrong, and its in oakwood hit me up if you need a hand strippin' her down.

Austin

dbragg 09-17-07 10:31 AM

i live in oakwood in an apartment for college. my parents house is in toccoa. i wrecked it friday in oakwood but got it towed back to toccoa saturday morning. i have no where here that i could strip it or i would have. the people of my apartment complex would have been angry. they dont want you doing any work to your car. thanks though
