Meet this Saturday at 5PM, Southern States Mazda on Wake Forest Road. I'll bring the laptop with pics from DGRR 2008.

And a few of us are going up to Virginia International Raceway Sunday to watch the ROLEX Series race among others. Check the NC Rotaries Forum for details!!!

Prodigy_723 04-29-08 07:32 AM

how was the turn out this past meet?

Prodigy_723 07-02-08 10:24 PM

what happened to this thread?

Turbo II 07-06-08 01:15 PM

Dunno, maybe we're ( the main crew) too busy posting on the www.ncrotaries.com site hah! Seems like the people from down east want to use their thread on here for some reason. There's 168 members on the site listed with about 20 of us being very active, including the guys from ROAR Racing Grand Am KONI Series.

Last meet we had 7 FCs parked on the showroom deck. One was even a carbed 20B setup, couple of T2s, a vert, GTU, GXL... oh yeah, there were a few RX-8s there also hah!

Anyways, next meet is July 12th. We're also in the planning stages for a hopefully large turnout for a cookout to be held at Falls Lake or at Southern States Mazda in the next couple of meets. We're also setting up the Mazda Days Fan Festival during GT LIVE at Virginia International Raceway in October.

We're busy, having fun.

Had a great time at the BBQ. Sorry to dine and dash but I had a full schedule which included more BBQ! Hmmm good.

Anyway, it was great to finally meet some faces behind the screen names and see some more 7s. Next time I'm up in Raliegh I'll try to schedule it around one of your regular meets.

I've got pics of the cars I'll post up here and on the NC site as well later this week.

Hey NC rotorheads,

Check out the Blue Ridge Rotary Run that will be held on October 25th and 26th here:
https://www.rx7club.com/se-rx-7-forum-35/oct-25-26th-b3r-778536/

A few spaces are left for the group campsite. This will be a nice fall run on the Blue Ridge Parkway. This is right in your back yard.

Thanks to everyone that came out. I counted about 30 plus people (not including kids and the dog!) and a great turnout of 1st, 2nd and 3rd gen RX-7s and several RX-8s. Lots of pics listed on the NC Rotaries forum. Special thanks to Bryan from RotorSports Racing and everyone else who drove a few hours to make it! Was a lot of fun and really good to see everyone.

Now.... it's time to turn our attention to GT LIVE. You can find it on our site on the main page and forum and also a thread stickied on here. This will be a huge event and we want to make sure everyone gets in on this that can.

Next meet is this weekend at SIX PM, not 5PM, 6 PM!!!! at Southern States Mazda on Wake forest Road in Raleigh!

Prodigy_723 11-06-08 01:52 PM

NEXT MEET NOV.15 @ Grille 57 in Garner....right?!!

Turbo II 11-07-08 08:54 PM

Hah! Yep, and maybe just maybe we'll go karting afterwards.

D_Lawrence 11-11-08 08:20 PM

whens the next meet after the 15th

Turbo II 11-12-08 09:20 PM

The 15th will be our only meet this month due to Thanksgiving. We'll probably only have 1 in December due to the holidays. Check the NC Rotaries website as well as here. As soon as we figure out what works for everyone next month I'll post it up!

Pablo Escalera 11-12-08 10:02 PM

Turbo II 11-15-08 09:40 AM

I'll be there! I need a big fat hamburger, onion rings and a coke from G57!!!!

Pablo Escalera 11-15-08 08:01 PM

Yeah, this was my last meet of the year, since I'm going out of town pretty much all next month. It was good to see 3 '88 in the parking lot.

Turbo II 11-30-08 05:34 PM

Next meet is Dec 20th it looks like. Details... NONE yet hah!

Last meet... wimps. I do have to admit most of us were worm out from being at VIR all day Friday and the weather sucked Saturday night. So... seeing as this will be the last one of the year, let's do something and do it right!

D_Lawrence 12-01-08 04:27 PM

ugh keep me updated i'd love to make it to one before 2009 :\

Turbo II 12-05-08 07:24 AM

20th is a go! We're going to hold it at either my house or Gary's that night. We may try to do a cruise that day also, and maybe one that night to look at Christmas lights. We'll be doing either pot luck or send out for pizza where ever we meet. I'll post up more info as I get it!

Biosci777 04-28-09 03:14 PM

Hello from a fellow Raleigh resident and new RX-7 owner! I just found this thread, and I'm excited to see such an active group nearby. I will definitely check out the website also.

ogmikeG 05-09-09 05:14 PM

hey whens the next meet?i know im late but is anybody left?

Attila the Fun 05-13-09 08:32 AM

Any word on that cookout at Falls Lake?

Pablo Escalera 05-13-09 08:47 PM

Next meet is this Saturday May the 16th at Char Grill (9601 Strickland Rd, Raleigh, NC 27615) 6:30 PM.

I guess two of us are going to check out the cars at VIR and hang out with the Mazda Sports Car Club of North Carolina (MSCCNC) guys in the morning and then we'll drive back to Raleigh for the meet and a milkshake.

Biosci777 05-14-09 10:25 AM

Hello!
I'm hoping to make it, to meet fellow RX-7 owners. My own car won't be there, unfortunately. I'm still fighting stubborn transmission bolts.:wallbash:
Is it a large gathering usually?

Pablo Escalera 05-14-09 09:13 PM

I would say 4 or us are like the usual suspects, then some others may show up, or may not, just come and hang out, always good to share rotary experiences.
