The Great SE Regional Lakehouse Invitational IV (an OGTA-sponsored boozer)

The time is upon us again! Saturday May 21st at 11am is the set time. A map from the Interstate can be found HERE. From the time you get to I-85 and the GA/SC border, figure on 15-20 extra minutes to get to the house. Keep in mind, too, that the last turn is a little tricky. When the road surface changes from nice to crappy, you need to stand on the brakes if you haven't already, then make the right into Harbor Point.

If anyone wants to come up early, you're welcome to. I will be up there on Friday the 20th, and everyone's welcome to stay through Sunday, especially those with a long drive or who plan on doing some good drinkin' and partyin'. We've got a few beds available, but TONS of room downstairs for blankets, pillows and sleeping bags. Everyone's welcome to bring as many guests as they like, but do what you can to stay out of a boinger - there WILL be separate (but equal) parking.

The Party Barge is available (no shoes... the mud sucks) as is the jet ski. If anyone has a boat, jet ski, etc. we've got room at the dock. Anyone who trailers up a watercraft will be declared immune of the anti-boinger stigma. Bonus points if you can tow in a rotary.

The same beer rule is in effect from before, Comerades! All beer is community beer so feel free to bring something fancy to share and be a hero, or just lots of the cheap stuff.

If you would, just paste up the list below and volunteer if there's something you can bring. Please make a note of both what you can bring, and how many people are with you. Outstanding needs are: Beer, Burgers, Dawgs, Buns, Ice, Baked Beans, Corn on the Cobb, Pasta Salad, Chips, Dip, Water, Plates, Plasticware, Cups, etc.

THE LIST:
Crit - Propane for the grill, Potato Salad, all condiments etc and gas for the stuff in the water.

Now, there is also the SAARC at Road Atlanta that weekend, complete with a Sunday morning PDX. If you guys have conflicts and want to move the date, or want to try to pull off a 2-for-1 weekend and run down I-85 on Sunday morning, I'm open to both. Discuss....

For the sake of any OGTA points scoring, previous installments have gone like this:

Lakehouse I - 6/7/08 - 10.5 points - https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...postcount=1623

Lakehouse II - 8/8/09 - 9 points - https://www.rx7club.com/se-rx-7-forum-35/ogta-se-regional-lakehouse-meet-854205/

Lakehouse III - 5/21/10 - 11.6 points - https://www.rx7club.com/se-rx-7-forum-35/ogta-se-regional-lakehouse-meet-iii-third-times-charm-897676/

11.6 seems very, very beatable.

I'm a definite maybe. I'll run the date by Michelle tonight and commit back.

Doesn't look like we'll be able to make it this year. :( Any other weekend would have worked, but we have company that weekend.

Hope you guys have fun.

Can't wait to ride the wave runner again. I wonder if a certain someone will let me pull them on the tube again. ;) Gotta watch out for that whip.

Switch places and put him on the tube and me on the ski. :)

msimonov 05-12-11 01:34 PM

Crit, I am going to have to play this by ear. Michelle is working her way through chemo and some days are good and some not so good. If I make it, it will have to be a last minute decision and I'll check online to see what is needed.

Crit 05-12-11 05:47 PM

No problem, Mike. Just let us know when you can.

I've got word from the mechanic at the lake that the pontoon boat may be down for repairs. If it's at the dock, we can take it out (it just sputters under load) but it may still be out of the water at the mechanic's place.

Did you put a rotary in it or something? ;)

Kristy, I will bring some bleu cheese crumbles for the burgers to mix in. I will bring a food item as well. Still figuring that out. I will most likely end up manning the grill this year. If everyone is cool with that.
