I got pics of most of the cars there, alot of individual car shots and one of most of them parked along the driveway and I got a few shots of the the group inside the cabin. After catching up on sleep, I think we missed out by not having someone there with a video camera that could have gotten some shots of the drive, having that many roatry cars on the road at the same time was an awesome site. Next year someone will have to take that on. I'll post the pics tonight and if Mike could post his we should have some great coverage of the first ever NC GRR.

Lets reflect on what it was and give me feedback on what we can do for next year's GRR to make it better. Anything y'all can think of to make it better, what you were expecting and didn't get from the rally. Anything we should've done and didn't let me know.

Again, I appreciate the turnout and just want to say to all those that didn't come you really missed a great gathering of rotary owners and vehicles. Thanks to Dave and the Farlow family for inviting us on to their farm and allowing us to use their party cabin, it was a perfect place to gather, enjoy a fall day; thanks to Josh, Ryan, Johny and his wife, and to all those who brought a door prize for making this first GRR a success. Lets all keep our rotors turning and commit to making the GRR 2005 even better.

Bert, great job on organizing the whole meet. I had a great time, as did my brother and my cousin. It was great seeing so many rotary owners and their rides. Already looking forward to the next one.

I can't wait to get there next year and be at the GRR2 ! Bert can count me in for that one. And we will represent the FC and FD for ya;) Can't wait to get there.

I look forward to the pics of this great event. Should be a nice mix of the family represented huh. Good job Bert, and way to stay dedicated to the community.

Got an idea, take some of the pics we've posted from the Raleigh drive-ins and this GRR and postem to your site with comments indicating what a great turnout you had for the last meet. Praise the 7 owners and what a great time everyone had at the meet and how much everyone is looking forward to the next gathering.

Also any military bases on the big island? Get word out to the morale , recreation, and welfare orgs. about the rotary meetings. I know the military guys, Air Force, Marines, Army, and Navy in your case are looking for anything or any reason to go off base for fun. Post some notices around the place or maybe the post, camp, or base newspaper might do an article on you and the Rotary group. Also ask the Mazda dealers or shops to help spread the word.

I've heard about the laid-back attitude of Hawaiians and how hard it is to get islanders motivated or to commit to anything extra curricular to their normal routines.

Good luck, and keep your rotors spinning,

Bert

Sorry I missed it guys, I was learning how to set a ring and pinion up on a new differential and not because I wanted to. :( By the time we were done fixing the Jeep, it was late and cold so we called it a night.

But, I finally got all the parts for this, so next time I should be able to go in proper accomodations:

GTUser 11-15-04 01:23 PM

Josh, did yu change the oil in the Fiero yet? Where did yu get the wheels on the Fiero? Did you see the pics Bobby posted and I linked to on the post above?

I did see the link, there is the one picture of the Fiero way in the back. You hardly notice it due to the rotary marvel in the foreground, but the very attentive may have noticed that it looked reasonably clean and nice.

I have always gotten my wheels from Discount Tire Direct (www.tires.com) Those are the same wheels I had on my blue GT; the one I totaled. They are TSW Stings 17x7 front & 18x8 rear.

No oil changes yet, though, I am happy with my prize. I've been meaning to buy one for a while now.

slide show for me? ss454dave@hotmail.com . thanks everyone who showed up. it was the most legal(for the most part) fun i've had in a while. i enjoyed seeein each and every beautiful machine there. wish we had more for a drive. in the following weekends whoever missed the drive or those who would like to drive again should meet for a drive for another. i'll need a little driving to get my ae 86 motor broken in.

Slide Show

It's on the way in 5 minutes. Have a good one Dave.

Turbo II 11-15-04 06:27 PM

Lee, I'd love to see it also (gstamper1@nc.rr.com).

On another note:
Got up this morning, got in the '91 Accord to go to work, pulled out into the street and took off.....I suffered major withdrawal symptoms all the way to work. I only drive the turbo II once or twice a month and after Saturdays back road ride getting into the Honda and driving it was a brutal blow to my senses. Had to keep telling myself "slow down on turns and corners 'cause you're not in the 7", "no that isn't turbo lag that is no hp", etc....
Anyways, thanks to all once again who took part in this, it was a great day!

Greg

Batguano 11-15-04 06:32 PM
