yeah i guess i'm going for a non-factory look then. never understood race cars molding the fenders. little bump at the track and it's a costly repair. this way, just unbolt and put in a new fiberglass piece.

TPS has been adjusted. turns out the green connector can be either male or female (female in my case). not sure if that will help with the throttle issue but we'll see. need to take it out for another spin later on.

oil pan is slightly leaking still. may need to get a new oil pan but the leak is minimal so i'm not going to worry about it right now. will keep an eye on the oil level.

rotorypolo 11-22-11 05:31 PM

are you still having the higher rev issues when shifting??

craaaazzy 11-23-11 06:58 AM

no idea, haven't had the chance to take it out since i adjusted it.

lx_machado 11-23-11 11:29 AM

I think you should post up some videos, I want to hear it!

lx_machado 12-09-11 10:15 AM

Here you go fred, These wheels came off of a friends IMSA GTU RX-7. They would look great on your car :)

craaaazzy 12-09-11 11:52 AM

hey alex,
those rims are definitely beautiful but at $6K, they're worth more than the car! lol.

so u going widebody? let me know when u want to drop by. we just need to coordinate to when i'm not traveling. and i'd like to talk to u about ur project as well. =)

oh, is the rear wing ready? need to see how it would look on my car.

Yea $6K is way too much.

I'll shoot you a PM in a little about the wing :icon_tup:

after fixing the TPS, the rev-up issue is much better although not totally gone.

drove it and went up to 4k rpms. car pulls pretty strong up to there. can't wait til the motor is broken in (which is going to take me forever, especially since it has new bearings as well). sorry alex, forgot to take sound bite for u. u can come by and hear it in person. =)

rotorypolo 12-12-11 10:13 AM

i wanna hear it!!

craaaazzy 12-12-11 03:12 PM

polo, u can also drop by!

craaaazzy 12-14-11 03:20 PM

rotorypolo 12-14-11 08:50 PM

nice....stinky??

myfree7 12-20-11 08:01 PM

doesn't sound to bad..... any updates on the body work?

craaaazzy 12-20-11 09:40 PM

No update on the body as that will be the last thing I do. Need to order a new hardline for the clutch as rotorypolo found a leak there I never noticed. Then need to bleed the brakes as well.

craaaazzy 01-03-12 04:12 PM

new clutch line is installed. no more leak from there.

on a side note, 02 was sent off to be painted. should have it back in a week or 2.

craaaazzy 01-04-12 01:23 PM

just got a call from the shop and the 02 is done! about a week turnaround time (with New Year holiday)! need to see if i can find some time the next couple of days to go pick it up.

lx_machado 01-11-12 09:03 PM

craaaazzy 01-11-12 10:54 PM

^ thanks, will contact him

myfree7 02-02-12 05:56 AM

how's the car coming man?

craaaazzy 02-02-12 01:05 PM

nothing here. still working on putting the 02 back together.

myfree7 02-07-12 06:51 PM

well that sucks lol... i haven't even started on building another widebody yet, but this summer i will start buying the kit and other goodies. i will make another build thread for the new one as i did with the 1st one

craaaazzy 05-14-12 02:18 PM

02 was finally finished and has gone to a good home so have started working on the rx7 again.

trimmed the rear fenders for clearance. i did it a bit different than what i have seen done before. instead of cutting the 2 pieces to different heights and then folding one over the other, i simply cut them the same, seam sealed, and riveted them together. why have a fold that could possibly hold water. seam sealed the rivets also. i'll be smoothing it out after the seam sealer dries as it is both sand-able and paint-able.

oh, and i also ordered some rims. 15x8's and 15x10's with a 2 and 3 inch backspace, respectively. i should have it in 2.5 weeks.

craaaazzy 05-25-12 08:27 PM

things finally arrived... :egrin:

this is the 15x8:

and how much it sticks out on the rear:

and finally the tires:
