Columbia RX-7's ~ Tuning
Hey guys n' girls. It's hot out again, and I know a few people in SC have their RX-7's running right, just in need of a tune, like myself. I was hoping to at least get a 'few' people, if not a group of us to get tuned at the same place all at the same time to possibly save some money, and it would be a hell of a rotary dyno day!
I know I personally will be ready within a month from now to get my FD fine tuned. Also, my friend Mike who I know some of you may or may not know is wanting to tune his 7 as well... Reese, I know we've talked about this on several occasions but I haven't really had a chance to speak with you recently, and didn't know if you were still un-tuned or not. If not, and assuming you're still interested, then that's 3 people right there. A couple more, and we'll be in business! Anyone else thats interested in doing a tuning day somewhere in SC or knows of a place relatively close by- (NC, GA, TN, etc.), please feel free to post it up! It would be nice to see a 'solid' group of strong and healthy running RX-7's able to come out all at once, not only as a gathering of rare cars but as a group of good friends as well. Thanks, Zachary |

dont waste your money on a tune with just an safc and an na car. the tune will cost a great deal more than thethe safc itself.
the safc was free, its also a neo if thats any different:dunno: |
any numbers?

got 439whp @22lbs and a bad boost leak at the elbow
|
I put down 327rwhp & 262rwtq at 12psi.
Ran out of fuel with the stock injectors at 6500rpms, need bigger secondaries! I'm happy with my numbers though. :) Steve is a very cool guy too, very humble. |

How long did it end up taking to finish? |
Zach, that's great! Did Steve have any insight as to what was up with the idle?
Glad you were able to make it! Reese |
took me 3 and a half hrs and 23 pulls to get it

Glad you were able to make it! Reese Thanks! Yes, the vaccume line comming from the map sensor was ported to the UIM where the air is very rough and caused the idle to be rough as a result.. Or at least thats how Steve explained it. Anyways, we just got a bigger vaccume line and hooked it up to another port and the idle smoothed right on out! :) Zach |
That's weird as hell considering the fact that all we did was pull that hose off and put it right back where it came from when we finished with the injectors. I'm confused. LOL.
|
I think it was like that from before, maybe when Josh put it like that it was never thouched/changed, he is the one that put those silicon vaccume lines on.
|
nice numbers zach, what is the record for power on stock twins?
