Very cool! New 2012 edition. Thought you guys might be interested in this. I can't wait to go get a handful of them!

Haaaaa! Awesome, where do you find them? So far the only diecast I have is the "For Sale" Turbo II.

thumpgun 12-19-11 10:12 PM

I haven't seen them yet. It's just the regular 2012 Hot Wheels new editions. I would think they should be in the stores soon. It looks really good too. It's cool that they made such a nice one. I'm going to start looking after the holiday's a sthey start restocking everything.

LizardFC 12-20-11 05:26 PM

I have a habit of digging through the hotwheels and diecast cars every time I pass by a toy aisle. You never know what you might spot. My girlfriend picked up a cool VW set the last time we were in Walmart. Had a lot of classics. I'll keep my eye out for that FB and if I'll snatch a few of them if there is more than one.

Gilgamesh 01-04-12 10:59 PM

i saw a hakasuka GTR at wal mart once... lol front exposed oil cooler and everything

DerrickS 01-05-12 07:00 AM

The Hako and FB are both the result of Japanese Nostalgic Car in conjunction with Jun Imai of Hotwheels. That is why they both have the JNC logo on them. There is also a Kenmeri Skyline that is really sweet with no decals on it. Very clean.

On a side note, I have also a 1st gen rx7 from Matchbox that has the IMSA widebody kit on it. Looks really great from circa mid 1980's.

rob86rx- 01-24-12 09:08 PM

Anybody ever see an FC hotwheels? Im just north of Chattanooga in Cleveland most of the time btw.

LizardFC 01-24-12 10:21 PM

Thanks for the info, Derrick. I guess ebay is still the best place to try and grab stuff like that.

The "For Sale" TII is close but not really a hotwheels. Still one of my favorite little toys. I wish I knew where all my old hotwheels/matchbox cars went that I had when I was a kid. With all the sports cars I had, surely at least one of them was a rotary car.

thumpgun 02-12-12 07:43 AM

Yeah, the only FC's I can think of are the Initial D cars, and the For Sale cars. I'm sure there are more that were made for other markets and not shipped to the US.
I have made little progress on my cars as of late. Having time and the weather has affected my progress.
I'm doing small things when I have time. But no major work has been started. Hopefully when Spring finally gets here and I have some more cash saved for the project.
Hope all you guys are doing well.

I have one of the Initial D FC's. Those things are pretty cool.

Haven't done a whole lot on my cars either. Been too rainy and cold, and I've been on vacation for the past week. Did finally get my exhaust leaks fixed on the vert. Full boost at last!

I managed to snag an S5 turbo and custom 12a manifold from another forum member, so I have all the parts I need for the blowthrough setup on the first gen. Now I just need the time and nicer weather to get it all together. Can't wait until it starts warming up!

Finally getting a meet together - April 1st on the Tail of the Dragon! Details in this thread: https://www.rx7club.com/se-rx-7-forum-35/east-tn-april-foolin-dragon-992720/ I know it's a little short notice. Hope some of you Chattanooga/North GA folks can make it.

Close enough. Good to see more 12a power around the region. What happened to everyone else on here?

a dedicated autocross car.

Oh cool, if I'm ever down at any of the Chattanooga region events I'll keep an eye out for you. I remember there was an FD that ran the last time I was down there. Had a '99 spec front so it must've been a different one.

Hello all. Been a while since I've been on. Thought I'd check in. Good to see a few new posts since I was last on here. I've been so busy the past few months I haven't been able to check in or post anything. Been doing small amounts of work to all of my cars. And still not finished with anything. Hope everyone is doing well and your rotaries are doing well also.

Welcome back. We've got a group together on Facebook now... we're trying to get a meet together for July. Also, some friends of mine are hosting legit drift events here in Knoxville. It's kinda pricey because of insurance and all, but it's a day where you can slide your car around without risk of getting arrested or banned from Walmart. I'll PM you details.

skfury 07-10-12 01:37 AM

Hey Im from Knoxville but I hit Chattanooga every once in a while.

thumpgun 07-14-12 08:06 AM

Thanks Lizard, I got the message. And I went by facebook and added the group. I would definitely like to check the event out. I still do not anything of my actually ready. The '85 needs a few minor things done. But it does run and drive.
The '91 has to be completely rebuilt. Until it got hot I had been thrashing like crazy to get my '61 Beetle ready for show's this year. We didn't make it and me and my friends spent tons of time working on it.

Now it's just gotten to hot to work on anything at all. I'm trying to get small things done to all of my cars a little at a time. Thanks for the message about the group. I hope to check the event out. Let me know when there will be something going on. Thanks again.

LizardFC 07-15-12 02:10 AM

SKFury, welcome to the group. How long you been around Knoxville?

Thumpgun, I know what you mean about it being too hot to work on stuff... hit 105 here the other day. Now it's cooled down but the rain won't let up. Just can't win this summer, can we?

thumpgun 07-18-12 11:32 PM

Lol, Nope, sure can't Lizard. Way too hot or pouring rain. I've been trying to do little bits here and there to the 4 different cars I'm working on. All major production has slowed to a grinding halt.
We had 108 and 109 on June 30th. I'm just grateful that the humidity was low at the time. I've also exhausted most of my car building funds for the moment. And having to pay all of those pesky but necessary bills, such as house payment, utilities and such. It's been a rough year, lol. Going up to Knox this Saturday for a VW show. We go and scrounge through parts mainly.
Hope all is well for you guys in the large scheme of things.

skfury 07-26-12 03:17 AM

Ive been around Knoxville for a while. i drive the Red and black fc.

Oh snap, were you at the meet in Townsend? I was there with my girlfriend, we were showing her '71 Super. What did you bring? I wish I'd checked this sooner.

SKFury, I don't think I've seen a red and black one. I'll give you a rev if I see you. I'm usually in my Subaru but I've been taking the vert out a lot lately since it's stopped raining. It's black with a C/F TII hood.

fish1976 07-26-12 07:04 PM

that looks like a car i have seen in Smyrna

TinMan09 08-26-12 09:27 PM

I'm from Dalton, but i'm stationed out in El Paso right now. About to be going to Fort Rucker, AL for the next couple of years to learn to fly helicopters so i'll be up that way quite a bit more.
