The most truthfull thing that he said in his email was "that I know of"...That HE knows of." See if he will put his money where his mouth is. An AWD FC with a 4 rotor is shown to him if he will cough up 2000 dollars. Real bet with a mediator holding the cash. Impartia.. PLENTY of people get 4 rotors. Show him the pics I sent you and send him to 4 rotor.com or KIWI racing www.KIWI.com I think.

As to the plugs of course they are mainly for mileage but ALSO efficency and that is horsepower as well and they all count. However, you also do it just for the effect at a show.

As Im suire you are aware every little thing you can do earns you points. Worms like this guy just like to talk. I like his line about the FC being perfect and not wanting to "rice" it! Why not? Its a RICE BURNER like most all the other cars built today.

He also tries to speak for the whole FC community. EVERYONE is different and likes to customize thier cars to show their preference. Its a small percentage of people who
like to leave cars bone stoick because they are PERFECT. The FC is nice but FAR from perfect. It was actually built in the wrong direction from the 1st gen which was lighter and racer. It did get some improvemnets like independant suspension and a bigger wheelbase but it also got heavier. Mostly it was aimed at the college boy market. It just BARELY had all the aluminum parts on it. They were done just at the last minute so iit could be marketed in the US otherwise it would have been a leadslead...

The third gen is much closer to perfect but even it has issues. This is the kind of guy that never loses an argument (in his head) so you cant tell him anything. You go right on showing off all the mods to your car and tell him to smoke a turd.

Better yet, just dont talk to him. Extend the nose...please. See if he will make a bet for October. As far as pics he will surely back down when he sees the AWD setup in the car so ...

You seem to have several people replies confused in your head and are attributing them all to me. At least that is how it come across. I agree with you on your comments about the FC not being perfect. I am an FB fan. I have had many FB's and FC's, and currently have a FD.

My knowledge is not "web knowledge". Rick Engman owns Mazmart, Jim Downing has Downing Atlanta. They are two of the most respected rotary men in the industry. Mazda recognizes their success. They are both 5 min from my house. What I shared with you about the use of 3 plugs came directly from Jim Downing's mouth. Is this "web knowledge"?
Alec at Kiwi-RE offers a 4 rotor e-shaft. Not a 3 plug housing. Big difference.
I used to build show cars for a living. Have you? Is this "web knowledge"?
I can rebuild my own rotary engine. Can you? Is this "web knowledge"?

I like how you don't list your builder's shop name and location. Are you afraid that I'd call him up and ask him if he has done this before? Post the name and number to the shop.

First, you claim that your builder has done this work. AWD and a 4 rotor (with 3 plugs per housing) in a FC. You claim that you can show me this and that your builder will say that it is his work.

Second, I want to see the vehicle personally. Not pics. If he admits that he has an FC with AWD, and 4 rotor, I am willing to come down to Miami and visually verify it. Like I said, it's no big deal for me to come down there - I have family there.

If you want to make a bet, we can. So that I don't waste my time, I want the specifics first.

Oh, and I do have a FD project showcar in development here. When I post something about it, I have photos to prove it. Not just bs talk about how I can show you if you want to make a bet. Sounds like a cop-out to me. If you really had it, you would have already posted pics.

1. Mazda - You cannot get the 26. That is a fact. Even if they would sell one to you (which they wouldn't), you couldn't afford it.

2. Rick Engman (Mazmart) - This is who built the motors for Jim Downing's car (SRP 63). If you were to buy a used one from him, you would be looking at $50k. I doubt someone that could dump $50k on a motor (remember used, not new, new is $125k+), would be dropping it in a FC when they haven't even replaced the top. Plus, he has no plans to sell one to the public either.

You are not going to get a 4 rotor with 3 plugs per housing. Do you even know why there are 3 spark plugs? I do. It does not help you get any more power at all. It is simply to burn all of the fuel in the housing to get the maximum amount of mileage in an endurance race. These motors were used ONLY for endurance racing.

B. AWD - Only one person has successfully converted a FC to AWD that I know of - Millen. He had a 20B with AWD back in the mid 80's for rally racing. It took all of the room under the hood. You want a 4 rotor with AWD, and not cut the nose? Then you will physically have to cut the firewall out and make a custom one in it's place. Looking at the photo of your car, you have no clue as to what must be dome, or you would have stripped the car down to a bare shell first, before attempting even the first modification.

Werd .. I agree with David on this one.

Ummm no they don't... It's far too expensive for the average FC owner...
Hell most of us can't even afford 20B's...

I'm going to goto the Seven Stock 8!!! I found out yesterday that I have 14 vacation days I need to use before end of this year!! HeHAW!!!!

David, I agree with you about the 4 rotor/ AWD.. I don't know what the hell this guy is talking about.. first, I can't imagine how he's going to bolt up an all wheel drive onto a rotary... and especially longer 4 rotor engine.. unless he's thinking about 10a's or 12a's with custom e shaft to go shorter.. And then what?? turbo it on top of all this?? I'm curious how its going to be done.. If this guy in German did one already, I would also like to see pics and some specs..

Also, Like david said, 4 rotors aren't cheap!! My question is, how are you going to set up the engine??... How are you going to solve the oil issues, coolant issues, and what ecu and who's going to tune it? So many things go into building 3 and 4 rotor engines.. Its not just about adding rotors.... Tuning alone might take weeks.

hmm..
Ok.. so, what is so special about the "german cloth top"???

I guess German Cloth is better than OEM?? I used to own a convertible FC and because how it comes down, it always pinch one area and over time it rips. Which I see that Val's car also has that same rip.

Hope Val's 4 rotor w/ special German cloth top will start a new trend in rotary world.

Val, What's your expected Rear Wheel Horse Power (RWHP) for your project?? 400RWHP?? 800RWHP?? 1000RWHP?? What tranny??

13b4me 05-18-05 12:23 PM

Wanna see pics of the RE Amemiya AWD 20B car?
This will give you an idea of the work involved...
And keep in mind now, that this is ONLY A 20B!!!

Notice how the firewall is pushed back so the weight
can be distributed more evenly throughout the vehicle?
Now imagine trying to displace the weight of an R26B!!!

One more thing...

Ever seen the oil metering pump on the 26?
Where do you plan on finding one of those?
How many alternators you gonna need to power TWO stereo systems,
and your "superiffic JdM mAd TYte dYnAmIc reMotE d00r acTuATorS y0"?

13B4ME,

do you have any pics of the drive train on that RE AWD car??

Are they using some sort of Skyline drivetrain?? I'm just curious..

13b4me 05-18-05 01:31 PM

Unfortunately I don't or I would post those too!
I imagine it's mostly a custom setup...

Here's your rice, biatch! Add this to your fuel tank every 3,000 miles! It will go nicely with that hideous hood and heavy-ass door equipment. As if the convertible doesn't weigh enough as it is! Yours will be a frickin waste. Way too much weight. Enjoy driving your heifer... sucks when she ends up breaking down on you and you have to push her!

By the way... watch out for those German guys, I heard rumor they were really aggressive in bed! Thought I would let you know, unless you like that sort of thing. Make sure you get a receipt for your "payments" ...cuz it might hurt to sit down in your new 'vert for a while.

I love my seven... I love all rotaries. I don't see why someone would be so compelled to change it?? I mean, yeah, it may have its negative things, but that's why you FIX them... not give the car a makeover! :(

Some people in this world... I tell ya!

I'm STILL mad he called it rice, yet he wants to make it even MORE ricey! :rlaugh: How queer is that?
