Directions to the Gaffney pre-meet:

I - 85 Southbound: Take Exit 92. When you get to the top of the ramp, there will be a traffic light. Turn to the right and immediately, get in the left hand turn only lane. You will come to a traffic light, so obviously, you will be turning left. At the top of the hill is a 4-way stop sign. You will be facing the Texaco station!

I - 85 Northbound: Take Exit 92. When you get to the top of the ramp, there will be a traffic light. Turn to the left. Go straight through the next light. Now, get in the left hand turn only lane, so that you can turn left at the next traffic light. At the top of the hill is a 4-way stop sign. You will be facing the Texaco station!

We will be Leaving the Texaco at 10:30AM. Also, at the top of both exit ramps, you can see the Texaco station. It isn't hard to find!

Alright I am in again! like last time, I will have to work on a saturday.

Is there a pre-meet place like before or is it just straight up meet at big daddys and go from there.

I have screwed my headlights down on the base of the cover so that shouldnt be a problem this time with headlights flying off and hitting other cars;)!

I sold my FC GTU for $4,000 and I bought a red S5 1990 Turbo II that is a project car.

I will drive my FD once again.

Look forward to it!

Dan

Is there any way that you can request that weekend off? If you could, that would be great!

If you guys are coming to Asheville to meet at the Biltmore, you should syop by MR motorcycles. I work there and would love to meet all of the owners in the area. (I live in Saluda NC;)) I won't be able to get off work. I know that for sure as I have been off for about 1 1/2 months already with a bad knee injury.(Just had ACL reconstruction and meniscus cartiledge repair. As well I fractured the top of mt Tibia) So I am just getting back to work this coming week. I think the boss would just shit his paints if I asked for a sat off:D

But anyways, stop by if you are in the asheville area. We could do a pizza lunch there or caravan to Marcos pizza. The absolute best pizza I have ever had. ( I realize that you may have already made plans at different places, just throwing out an idea)

I will keep my ears and eyes peeled for more of your meets. Hopefully later on I can make one. I would also like to say that one of these days I am more than willing to open my house to a rotary meet sometime in late oct, nov. The house is just getting finished up and the driveway needs repair from the heavy equipment that was here. But this is for another day and thread. Just thought i would put it out there since i was thinking of it this morning. Maybe the thread starter can keep me in mind and contact me if this sounds like a fun idea.

Thanks for letting me ramble. I have been cooped up so long inside I am going crazy i think:D

i should have it off, but hopefully i will be switching shops soon, so i might have to stand a watch sometimes, so i just have to find what my duty section has what weekends then i will know for sure, and i am trying to save my leave time for christmas time, but if no duty then i will be down

Ow, what on earth did you do to your knee to cause that kind of an injury?!?

Sorry you can't come. I like your pizza idea!, but maybe we could do it for supper or something since we have plans for lunch. Keep us posted and let us know when you want to do the thing at your place!

Rotarycrazy, what do think of doing the pizza instead of Hopps?

Good luck with your new position! I hope you can come down, but I definately understand saving your leave time for Christmas. Prioritys man, prioritys!

ouuuch! :( well, '85GSL-SE asked me to join up in this meet, but i guess i shouldn't. i don't want to ruin anyones mountain drive again.

Skylance 09-18-05 03:35 PM

I was out in town to get some lunch after Church this morning, and I saw a beautiful Champagne colored 1st gen (found out later it was an '83)! I stopped and was about to leave a note under the wiper blade when the owner came out. He bought the car brand new in '83, and has had it all this time! We were just talkin, and I found out that he had never even heard about www.RX7club.com !! So I told him where to find us and about the meet, and he said he would try to make it, but no guarantee! He was a cool dude, I hope he can make it.

rotarycrazy 09-18-05 03:36 PM

You are more than wellcome to showup. Just next time when I ask does anybody need gas dont hesitate to tell me :bigthumb: .

Bah, nobody's mountain drive got "ruined". It was just that we were driving and suddenly realized that we had lost about half the people that were behind us. We waited for close to 1/2 an hr, but nobody ever came as far as we were so we went on. Come to find out, there was just a little lack of communication. So now we want everyone to post their cell phone number up just in case :bigthumb: . If you don't want to, then at least put the numbers posted in your cell's phonebook. So there is no hard feelings or anything, we just need to communicate a little better! :bigthumb:

rotarycrazy 09-18-05 04:06 PM

I totaly agree with you on that Adam.

dregg100 09-18-05 07:52 PM

I was over at Minda's (rotarycrazy's) house yesterday, and we saw this show on the travel channel about treasure. There is a ruby mine in Franklin, NC that is open to the public. Basically you could go there and you get to keep what you find. It is not far from where we would be. The question is, would everyone here be interested in going? If so, please keep in mind that we have no idea what the likelyhood of finding something is. Also, you have to pay to get in, but you do get to keep what you find.

So, tell us what you think. Is that a cool idea for the meet? Or is that something that you would rather not do? We aren't going to go if no one wants to do that, but if enough people want to, we might ride out there.

'85GSL-SE 09-20-05 04:19 PM

My question would be is there a local speedway or road course track that we could all goto one day to test out our cars? I think that would be awsome!

Skylance 09-26-05 01:27 PM

bump - go back to teh top

Um, nothing I know of  . There is a 1/8th track close to where I live, but I don't know if/when they open to the general public.

Skylance 09-26-05 01:31 PM

Ahh, found it! Here it is. It is called Shadyside Dragway.

dregg100 09-26-05 05:34 PM

i was just coming on here to do a bump, but i guess here goes another!!!

chagar 09-28-05 06:20 PM

Robin and I will try to make it; can't commit at this time. Sounds like fun. We will bring our own camera too. As for fast food, pizza is at the top of the list.

hahahaha, thanks! i go out every day and it fires right up and cruises beautifully. gas mileage has gone down but ehhh, it's so much fun i dont care :) as of now i'm working on hoggin out my hotside on the stock tii turbo (a spare one actually) to fit the P-trim t4 turbo i want to use. shouldn't be too much of a hassle as i've seen now, but i probably won't be done until late october. so i'll still be beast'n it as i was the last meet.. only now i have an intercooler, better piping, mallory ignition box, tuned the carb for better afr's... oh and can't forget.... cranked the boost from 10psi to 16psi  it's quite fun ;)

jl1rx7 09-30-05 10:12 AM

looks like i will be able to come down, but i dont know if i can leave friday day like i did last time, i might have to work until 9 ish and drive down then, but who knows

You could, but you don't have much of a case. It happened on your property, no witnesses, your word versus mine, and no supporting definitive evidence that my MX-6 was what harmed your finger. :bigthumb: :p: :p: :) ;)

I actually brought up Saturday, because I know that Minda and I could both be off that day. I can make arrangements to be there Sunday if the need arrises, but Saturday is definately the best. Saturday I am totally free, Sunday is my Church/Family/Homework day. God and the Family will understand if I miss one Sunday to help a friend and I can do the homework earlier in the week. So my suggestion would be plan on doing it on Saturday, that way we have Sunday to finish up if we don't git 'r' dun on Saturday. Monday, I have to work from 10am - 5pm, then I have nite class from 7:30pm until 10:00pm. I can't miss work 'cause I need the money, and this class is just to intensive to miss. Could you call in "sick" to work, or just tell them that you don't have a ride (which would be the absolute truth, your car is dead) on Saturday?

jl1rx7 10-03-05 04:54 PM

its a pitty i live so far away or you could count me in on the weekend to help, but i made a deal to be off for the weekend of the 22 so baring something unforseen i will down for the meet. and masin good luck this weekend with your engine, keep us posted, also if you need any tech help call me and i try to help out over the phone if possible.

i could call in sick but also later that day have a band competition(im in the drumline) i would have to leave for that around 4ish. so if we started early and worked until 4ish then finish on sunday with me you and my dad. that would work out great!!!

also i thought i would ask if any of you have any extra water seals that i could buy from you? that way i wont get ripped on shipping. i need to know tonight if you have them because if you dont i need to order the new ones tonight.

thanks again

rotarycrazy 10-03-05 05:55 PM

Call Ernst at rx7world.com he should have some spare ones that he would sell you and shipping should not be that bad. Just tell him Mindaugas send you and make sure he sends them out to you as soon as posible it shouldnt be but couple bucks for shipping costs.

As for saturday and sunday it is all good with adam but I still have to work sunday just cant afford to take a day off. Just let us know when you want us there and we will be there.

dregg100 10-03-05 06:28 PM

thank you so much for helping me out. if you could be here at 8ish on sat. i will pm you my address or directions which ever you prefer. i understand about taking a day off minda, dont worry about sunday adam and i can handle it. i will definately call ernst. do you think he will give me a deal???

20B10AE 10-03-05 06:31 PM

Will anything be going on after the mountain run? Or is it going to wrap up around 4 or 5? Just trying to get an idea of what's going on. Thanks!

Reese

rotarycrazy 10-03-05 07:58 PM

After the run we are planing to go out and eat someplace in Spartanburg. It is going to be eather Hops or Ruby Tuesdays. One of the 2, so we can talk a little more about cars and stuff. Last time it all ended about 8 ish. It all depends on how many places we are going tto stop at.
