We just sent out a few of these. I have 15 in stock right now. There $975 plus shipping and the turnaround time is about a week.

This is BY FAR the best cage for the FD3S.

Not a great shot, but here's one from a while ago:

Matt, the back attachments connect to the strut towers, right? And how did you bolt down the fronts? Finally, what is the seat clearance like? Thanks!

safe for a street car without helmet?

Mikelivi91 05-03-18 11:38 AM

Installed mine a few weekends back. Fitment is perfect and bolts right in place very snug. I would recommend this cage to any FD owner...https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...8bfc64e80.jpeghttps://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...9d04f8b86.jpeg

Correct.

Drilled and attached to reinforcement plate on the other (outside) side of the car.

Not too bad. I have Spirit-R seats and sit pretty close, but no issues.

403rx7 05-05-18 04:46 AM

It's too bad there isnt a harness mount...

briansfd 05-06-18 07:01 PM

Can you confirm what is suppose to come in the hardware kit?

I currently have nothing to attach the cage to the strut tower boxes. The boxes are tapped, but there is no hardware that fits it.

do you have an option for a harness bar

justin samberg 05-09-18 01:07 PM

You can wrap the Harness around the strut bar.

Brody8877 05-09-18 02:22 PM

Will this fit with sunroof model (Touring)?

justin samberg 05-09-18 02:31 PM

We could add a small laser cut bracket with a 9/16" hole. Very few people have requested that. I think its because these are mostly used on the street.

It also fits the sunroof cars. The top of the Hoop is Approximately 4" forward of the rear hatch.

justin samberg 05-09-18 04:54 PM

I know its hard to see but if you look through the window you’ll see the harness wrapped around the strut tower bar. What do you think? Is that too ghetto for you?

I think the harness question pertains to something limiting lateral movement of the harness after it's wrapped around the bar.

correct. Anyone who will track their car will want a proper harness bar.

Looks like you’ve got a good product. Add a height adjustable harness bar to it and it’ll be great.

SpeedCrazie 05-10-18 03:46 PM

Hey Justin,

Can you show a picture of how it is mounted to the rear strut bar area?

Natey 05-10-18 04:38 PM

They wont let you on the track with your harness attached to the STB. I saw a guy get meatballed for that.

Any safety harness will allow a certain percentage of stretch, so the longer the belt, the more overall stretch it will allow. To minimize shoulder-belt length, the belts should mount to a rollcage bar almost directly behind the driver’s seat and approximately level with his or her shoulder blades (or slightly higher).

I think the simplest solution is to weld in a piece of 1 1/4" X.120 or larger dom tube. It only needs one 1/2" bung for the drivers harness. Im not really sure of the best way to make that adjustable or if its really necessary. I'm open to new ideas?

Howard Coleman 06-20-18 03:59 PM

Hi Justin,
nice to see you offering something on our board. it appears to be your usual really well engineered piece. i may have a need to order your bolt in rollbar for delivery in August. do you anticipate availability? also, i would need a lateral belt bar which i can fab or you can fab.
LMK on avail.

i run a T56 behind my 2 rotor and your rear diff mount has been onboard since 2012.

thanks,

Howard

justin samberg 06-21-18 11:56 AM

Hi Howard,

The parts for these are in stock and try and keep one bar that has been assembled in stock at all times.

Its good to here that you are still running the stock rear end housing without issue...

Howard Coleman 06-23-18 07:27 AM

i run a plate type LSD (Mazda) and the Mcleod double disc has a very friendly feather engagement plus no drag racing from a stop so the gears see easy duty.

justin samberg 08-09-18 10:57 AM

We are working on a harness bar that can be adjusted height wise. I should have something soon..

David Hayes 08-09-18 01:29 PM

Was just talking about this to a fellow car enthusiast. Good to hear you are working on a solution.
