FedEX SMASHED my exhaust!!

I bought a m2 catback from a member off this forum. He packaged, and boxed it and sent it to me. I recieve it a week later and find a HUGe dent on the muffler and no box. Even the welding is dented. The exhaust arrived with only bubble wrap! You can see the sticker is riped of the box and put on the bubble wrap. Weve set up a claim, and hopefuilly ill get the money back. But now......should i still put this exhaust on????? I wish i could fix it, but the muffler shop said its better to leave the way it is or just throw it away. Im thinking about putting it on and hoping for the best. WAT you guys thinK? Because of this, ive lost my respect for FEdex greatly!!!!!

was it shipped by fedex express or ground? If it was express i hope that the shipper insured it for the proper amount,if not ,fedex will only pay out $100.00. if you raise holyhell with the station that picked it up you might get more money.

I hate shipping companies in general. HOWEVER I only use usps or ups.. fedex IMO is VERY hard to get a claim from, I have a buddy that works at ups and the horror stories I hear are horrid HOWEVER I still have the best luck with UPS.. I make sure there is normally 2" of padding around most items (all 4 sides) and remember there is no such thing as to much tape...

IMHO it looks as if that exhaust was PORLY packaged in the first place.. he prolly had little to no padding and thats what caused the huge dent in the muffler in the first place..

good luck on your claim, junk the muffler dont even bother installing it.. maybe u can save it for a souviner or something...

take it to an auto collison shop...they have this gun thing where it tac welds a rivet pin in the middle of the dent, and then they put this tool over top of it, and yank up on it, till it pulls the dent out.

i went to this vocational school, jus browsin their classes, and they had a car door sitn on the table, and a hammer. they told me to put a dent in it, so i picked up the hammer and ****** whacked it as hard as i could with the ball peen hammer. Then i popped the dent out and smoothed it out.

if you win ur claim, and fix this muffler, you can make profit by selling th fixed muffler to someone dum.

Ya. I sold on FD alt. and they lost it for a few days. Found it...and sent it back. Once it got to my FedEx, they then sent it BACK to tha guy I sold it to.

The mounting bracket on tha alt. is broke and tha harness clip is gone...they repackaged tha alt.

FedEx has been doing alot of "Repackaging" lately. I ordered a turbo and wastegate from a forum member a short time ago, when it got here everything was no longer wrappped up nicely, peanuts in the turbo housings, and I was shorted 3 bolts and all the nuts. Never again will I use FedEx, they cant do anything right. Sorry to see the exhaust look like that....takes more than a simple drop to make that kind of dent.

You don't want to put that thing on your car even if you end up pulling out the dent. It's not what's on the outside that matters, but whats on the inside. And it's destroyed for sure.
Please don't try to fix it and sell it to another FD owner like the other guy said. That would be wrong. Just get your money back from Fed-Ex and look for another Catback. D

Call FedEx... ask for a manager... get there full name, if they say we don't give out last names tell them it is needed for the complaint you are filing with the Attorney Generals office. They require contact information regarding any complaint

If they don't say they can fix it, then file the complaint with the Attorney Generals office... you will get a call from FedEx within a month asking you what they can do to fix this situation. you can also submit a complaint with the BBB and Consumer Affairs
