Uhm... The o2 sensor is used for more than just emissions in quite a bit of cases.

 

??? No it isn't. It's function is emission control for the ECU to determine the proper levels of fuel that are added to the engine to keep the AFR stoic.

What IT'S purpose is, and what the end-user uses it for are completely different.
