Where to get Serial cable

My car came with the serial to Palm cable, but it doesn't match the palm device i picked up, and managed to get the software loaded to. The cable I need, I believe, is this one:

From the digitaltuning website

I have a Palm Tungsten E2.
The cable the car came with looks like it matches the one for the Visor series.

Does anyone know how to source this? My Palm has the sync cable in USB, but that doesn't interface with the DB9 connector off the rtek. Will a DB9 to USB FEMALE adapter even work? I have my doubts.
I've scoured ebay and google and can't find what I'm looking for.

My apologies..I got my wires crossed. (it's been a minute).. I talked to Chris, got my memory jarred and the memories came tumbling out of my ear.

I knew there was some oddity with the E2 but couldn't remember. Looks like I used to manufacture cables for the E2/ T|X, Treo 650...using the "Multi-Connector" connector which is different than the M500 cables. It required electronics in the cable. But once I ran out of stock, I couldn't get some parts for it so I started pointing people elsewhere. All those old suppliers that had an E2 cable are long gone.

I think you'll need a different Palm, or use bluetooth. There is a recent Bluetooth thread that has some recomendations.

Yes, i was eyeing that bluetooth thread and wondering if you would know if the Palm could connect via bluetooth, or is that sort of new magic only configurable on an android device. The E2 does have bluetooth. If it's not worth the trouble i'll just track down another used palm device.

Thanks

It works on the Palm. Can't say for certain it works on the E2 but have no reason to believe it won't, assuming it has bluetooth.

you do need the special BT build which I'm sure is linked somewhere in this forum..

I just ordered an Rtek 2.1; any idea where I can download a copy of the software that goes on the Palm Pilot? I'd like a spare copy in case something happens to Palm Pilot that comes with my ecu. Thanks.
