Rtek Android just got cheaper.

rtek for android has been available thru style tap($50)+bluetooth($70) for some time. im going a different approach.

PHEM a new palm Emulator is only 99 cents!
i already have m505 on my phone working, so the last piece of the puzzle is the connection..
im' buying this and well report back in a week!

Startech com Micro USB to RS232 DB9 Serial Adapter Cable Android with Charging M | eBay

if you already have a bluetooth dougle you could give PHEM a try before i even get my cable and beat me. however you probably already have style tap.. so i still win.

Well that will certainly be interesting to see if it works. I have my doubts that cable will work.

Thanks for the info!

So with PHEM you need to supply your own ROM? (Which is probably why Styletap is so expensive)

Yes phem is just an emulator. Hopefully I'll get a test in tonight my app isn't syncing to my palm so I can copy the rom.

yes ..PHEM does not emulate Palm models with ARM CPUs (any Palm running OS 5.x). (If you require this, do check out the StyleTap emulator.)
but..
Palm developed a Bluetooth API for external Bluetooth SDIO Cards for Palm OS 4.0 devices.
so bluetooth with palm 4.0 is possible. just not the bridge i'm trying to cross at the moment
maybe my cable will be here tomorrow.

well today a new ubs to r232 came in the mail so i tried getting cobalt a go on my win7 machine that doesnt have a serial port. i bought an rtek off ebay that was damaged( the cable came off the daugher card) so it was an easy fix and a good spare... but it came with a usb to rs232, which i didn't think worked.. but it was included anyways.. so i though may it was a thing now. apparently not.. nor will it ever be

So you cannot connect it to a Palm.

Unfortunately with the Palm E, they removed the serial port. The E2 does have a serial port, but you need a $50 hotsync cable.
The Zire 71 is a good choice. Hi res, color, rechargeable and hotsync cable is readily available.
so unless we get bluetooth on palm 4.2 thru phem i have little hope of this working without an android based tablet with a native rs232( ya right)

my micro usb to serial isnt here yet but i have little faith it will do any good.

if you could get an andriod tablet that has an sd card slot you could try this
Amazon.com: PalmOne Bluetooth SDIO Card, US: Electronics Amazon.com: PalmOne Bluetooth SDIO Card, US: Electronics

the phem software supports emulating those sdio cards but i can't find the bluetooth file to save to my phone to make the link between them work.
