OH Racing Pipe For Fb??

Im just looking to get more info on the racing pipe for the fb.

?#1. does the pipe replace from the stock header to the muffler? or exactly what?

?#2. will it still work if i was to swap to an aftermarket header-muffler?

?#3. will i need to buy seperate gaskets or does the pipe come with them?

thank you for your time. kevin

Kevin,

The race pipe for the NA rx7 eliminates the catalytic converters. It connects between the original non turbo manifold and the Y-pipe

It will work with any cat-back but will not bolt on to a header

There actually is a bolt and gasket set that helps with the installation for around $20, it's recommended but not mandatory.

Let me know if you have more questions, I'll be happy to help

Ari

The air injection tube gets removed... pretty simple.

The race pipe takes the place of all the converters. If your exhaust is a production built system that replaces the original cat-back (attaches to the rear of the original converters), then the race pipe will fit. If your exhaust system was completely custom built and no longer uses the original converters, there may be issues.

I'm sorry. My mistake! I should have asked about the year. There is one pipe for the 81-83 and one for the 84-85.

The '83 race pipe replaces the two cats. It connects between the short turn down tube that attaches to the manifold and the connecting pipe that attaches to the rear of the main cat.

The pipe is 2" in diameter

Have you guys there thought about the development of your own headers to work with the RACE PIPE? I know i would definatly be on base for that one. especially since im buying a race pipe and eventually want to add a header, for a better flowing exhaust system..

We've actually been looking at producing a SS header but were still not sure about demand. If it does happen, they will most likely be for the 13B model with 12A to follow.

We'll keep everyone posted
