48 IDA Headache!

I had a 48 IDA for my first Gen and I had a lot of problems with it flooding. Do I need to modify the engine or something? I believe I used the correct jets but I never had good acceleration. In the end the carb destroyed my engine because of too much gas. Any thoughts or experiences to help out. Thanks JS:wallbash:

What kind of jetting was on the carb? What size were the chokes?
