Thanks Roan. I am my own worse critic. As soon as i finish something no matter how many times i have run trough it in my head i find something i don't like about it!
Thank you 864angel112! |
Nasty. :) I thought I would need a face palm smiley for this thread. Lol

Very well done Allen! One thing you might consider , is to fire sleeve the fuel lines on the passenger side of the engine. I know you have a heat shield on the turbine and down pipe but those -AN fittings don't like that kind of heat over time. :icon_tup:
The new setup turned out really nice, good job on the harness! I will be waiting for the 1XXX+whp numbers soon! -J |
Thanks man! I have a bunch of fire sleeve i just need to put it on. It's amazing how much heat that heat shield rejects, you can actually feel it roiling off the edges. I was hoping i could get away without using it but you are right, if anything it is extra insurance!
|
It really does make a difference man. I build and take appart setups all day long and over time, the swivle Orings and just the fittings in general start to lock up/leak when subjected to that heat. And yes, your right, it is amazing what a simple heat shield barrier will do!

I think i am going to change the intake setup this winter. The 11th and 12th injectors are really close to the downpipe and i don't know how they will react to the heat. I guess only time will tell. I will have to come up with some elaborate setup to get them to the cold side of the intake.
|
I would just build a reflective heat shield that covers over the intake. As well as a more surrounding heat barrier for the turbine and down pipe, ie inconel. Also, I even protect the front sec injector on a normal intake manifold setup with a reflectant sleeve. Keep in mind though, that because you run meth, your injectors and intake setup are cooling themselves pretty well. But, ultimately we are talking about radiant heat here... But every little bit helps!

Looks great Allen, now hurry up and race this thing already. I'm not getting any younger.

Meh, i don't know Jay. I may dyno it, get some ridiculous HP numbers, and then take it apart and change everything again:lol::lol:

Haha. Just finished wiring up the new hall effect crank trigger and it works flawlessly. All is left now is a little notching for the rear wheel wells, securing a few lines, and a lot of cleaning!

How thick are they? I don't think the hat will clear the hood?

Hey allen ,I have the same problem with 2 injectors little to close to the exhaust on the rx3 ....maybe I'm going to relocate those two injectors , maybe have to ??????

That looks very close to the placement of my injectors. I think what i am going to do is attach a piece of firesleeve to the titanium heat shield between the injectors and the down pipe. That will give me a layer of header wrap, a titanium heat shield, and a layer of firesleeve. I think that will keep them cool enough to live!
Beautiful setup BTW. |
