Wow, 139 murders so far in 2007, must be a nice place.

darktritium 03-22-07 08:40 PM

That is terrible news. I don't mean to sound like an ass, but do you think that maybe they had felt wronged or something? Like either this was something business related or personal, but they had to have felt extremely insulted to have done something like this.

He's not Mexican..

He was about to come to live in the U.S., that was the reason why he had so much money in his pocket. But yeah, for someone to get a Hit like that, you'd expect them to be in some deep stuff. RIP..

What are you fuckin' kidding me? It sucks that he was murdered, but nine THOUSAND dollars on him and they didn't take anything. They also didn't take ANYTHING from the store. Again, I'm very sorry that this happened, but this wasn't some random incident.

what matters here is that he put his heart and soul in that race car and its the fastest 3/4 chasis 13B in the world right now and thats it!

A real loss, R.I.P. I got back from Puerto Rico this morning. I don't know the story on Joselito but my prayers go out to his family. They don't play around on the island. As of this morning the murder rate was over 170. The 3rd highest murder rate in the whole world but I still had a great time and wouldn't trade it for anything.

Boostmaniac 03-27-07 03:11 PM

That is roughly 13 rounds a person from a semi automatic assault rifle, a professional hit would have been 2 or 3 rounds.

This was personal in some way.

out of respect for the deceased (and his family) i will limit my response to this culture-centric nonsense to this my only post, but i can't take it.

some of us don't live lives revolved around plastic - some of us believe in cash in hand. period. having a large quantity of it on your person, may be too much for you to wrap your heads around, but it does NOT equate to illegal and underhanded means of possession. it's obvious that it was personal, but underworld types are not the only people that get hits put out on them ... sorry to bust your safe, little bubble. i didn't know the man and i'm not so much defending him as i am saying if you don't know his situation, then please respect the dead and either keep your posts non-speculative or keep your thoughts to yourself. fucked up things happen to "good" people all the time and everyone has an opinion of the "whys" until it happens to them ...

sorry, Merlin, that was not an attack on you per se, but your post summarized a lot of nonsense that others have said.

as for Anais, i grieve the loss of someone that accomplished what he did and my condolences go out to his family.

For whatever reason most murders in Puerto Rico involve a LARGE amount of rounds. It send's a message. :wallbash:

And some people believe in the security and well being of banks, but that's not the point. You're right in that I don't understand why someone would carry around $9k on their person, but I wasn't implying that the large amount of cash had anything to do with his murder. I was referring to the way in which the murder was conducted and nothing was taken, which would indeed make it a "hit" and not some every day random shooting.

If it smells like shit... and tastes like shit then it must be shit. :stick:

Seriously, call it like it is, it's FUCKED UP. I'm not saying the guy was into anything bad but theres nothing that bad where two guys with assault rifles need to put the hit on you.

hondahater 03-28-07 07:29 AM

talked to a few guys in puerto rico that knew him and they all said he was big into drugs. Most of the guys down there are, how else do you think they can afford thier 60k cars. The guy bought anais and another car at the same time both for 60k a piece. Not only did he buy the cars, he bought the drivers as well. Puerto rico is alot like mexico, the average annual income for a single person is around 11k, so unless you own a thriving business than the only other way to have these 7 second cars would be drug money. How else do you think these people afford new engines every other week. this does not take away from the fact that he was a human being and no one deserves to get shot in the head 25 times by a machine gun and no one deserves to see thier husband/dad dead and for that I am very sad hearing about this news.

Rotaryhaven 03-28-07 07:42 AM

I had an uncle shot in his business (point blank) and a friend killed in his business a few years later. Just the way life is in Puerto Rico, anybody can come up to you and cap you.

Recently my wife's cousin was tied up and robbed in her own house (with husband) after they opened the door because police were executing a search warrant.

It was a lie, but the freaking thieves had police vests and were well armed.

Drugs are bad.

I love the Island, but you will not catch me living over there. Drugs, corruption, screwed up goverment, illiteracy are major factors.

I am glad I don't live in a house I have to put bars on.

Sorry mate, but that is not true; its in fact ABSURD!

Every other week?

Hardly from the fastest cars out there, some of them run their engines for a full season.

I agree with KNONFS. My friend that I went to High School with in Puerto Rico is Jorge Steidel owner of the old school Datsun named "Steidel Racing". He is a professional making big dollars and has owned his racing cars for over 10 years. He is not a shop. So not everyone is in the 11K income. He has a 7 second car.

He has a motor that has over 40 passes on it on the same seals. He has no secrets. You can go to his website at steidelracing.com and can enjoy or cheer what he's accomplished. Very humble person.

BTW, the Aussies are waiting for him, since he is the fastest rotary vehicle over there.

hondahater 03-28-07 01:00 PM

well you guys don't have to agree with me or believe me but I have a puerto rican friend here who lived there and was in that scene for a long time. He knows all sorts of people including kilo (the all motor king) he also knows the owner of atravida etc... etc... and I told him about this thread. We got on a confrence call between me, my buddy and a few guys from puerto rico to confirm this and that is exactly what they told me about the owner of the anais car. I don't really care what you people think, I know what I know and what they told me, not what some retards think they know on this forum.

did you not read my post??? it says "the average annual income for a single person is around 11k" this is fact taken from a staffing company I do computer work for. They higher puerto ricans now instead of mexicans because they want the same amount as mexicans without all the legality issues. Why am I explaining myself to ya'll though...

And you are right, there are motors out there that have been tuned perfectly that have a crap load of passes however how much do you want to bet they have alot of broken motor parts laying around to get to that perfect motor they have in thier cars? Again this is comming straight from the lions mouth.

Recognize my avatar? That'a a PR banner, and "BORICUA" means Puerto Rican. I have been there (born and raised), and have been on the streets; I *KNOW* how things are run back home.

TRUST me when I say that a $11K yearly salary is ABSURD.

Now you don't seem to know very well our people; we love the "chismes" (ask your buddies about that one), and things tend to go overboard from there.

I don't really care if you know or us know the story; all I cann tell you is that your $11K yearly salary is PLAIN out WRONG!

Would love to see your numbers, can you post them? got a link?

In fact companies are moving away from PR, because of salaries, and cost involved. Do a google search on PR 936.

Maybe that holds water 15 years ago (for the top racers).

About salaries in PR:
http://www.payscale.com/research/PR/...to_Rico/Salary

Do you still think that the rest of your info is correct?

hondahater 03-28-07 01:47 PM

are you kidding me? I'm constantly hearing about how they broke this and that motor because they started using a new ems (sakura) and they don't have the timing down yet. Or they kept blowing up motors because they started using a new crank sensor setup etc... etc.. etc.. these people don't get the fastest times in the world because they settle for what they have. They are constantly doing differant things to push the envelope of the rotary. Please, give me a break, just because your puerto rican doesn't mean you know a damn thing. Also there are no links to what the owner of American Workforce Soluctions told me so I can't back it up, I just have to take it from a very wealthy business owner that didn't get that way by being stupid.

you crack me up! That lists all the good paying jobs in PR. That makes up what percentage of PR though? By the way those same engineers etc... would be making way more money in the states for doing the same thing, so you really have just proved my point.

edit: I do have to stop talkin' smack though cause I forgot your the guy with the black fc with silver stripes. I always liked that 7 :D I'm the other guy with the silver striped black fc.

Sakura EMS does not control timming, they use a locked dizzy = No problems there.

Nobody said otherwise, but once they get the hang out of it; they don't break as many engines as you thing. Take for example all of the 13B running 7.4; somebody figured it out, the rest follows. I can tell you that the experts are not breaking there 7.4 engines every other week.

You are right, but lets follow your logic; based on that it also means that your PR friends know a damn thing either...

So you think PR is full of uneducated people? I suggest you check your stats, PR is probably among those state with a high percentage of graduate students per population. You should really study the history of my island.

I never said otherwise, hence why I live in the US; however you must also noticed that the cost of living "WAS" higher in the US. I said WAS because the cost of living in PR hass increased a whole lot in the past 5 years!

rajahFD 03-28-07 04:29 PM

I'm Mexican, I have lived in Mexico and I constantly travel to visit family in Mexico. I can tell you 11k is not the "average annual income."

There are certain people that you would see and think nothing of them, but for all you know, they can be the wealthy people in the town. Looks can be deceiving and some people choose to live in a "poverty-driven state of mind" - meaning: no fancy cars, houses, etc.

hondahater 03-28-07 05:21 PM

actually sakuras new ems does control timing. Also I'll have to get the specifics on why they where killing thier motors but it was something having to do with the sakura. They finally figured it out and now it's running in the high 5's in the 1/8th. I'm not saying that all of them break their motors all the time but there are alot of people (again I'm repeating what one of the guys that worked with the owner of anais told me) that would spend money on almost weekly rebuilds. This all comming from drug money. I really don't care what the average anual income is for Puerto Ricans but these people would have to be freakin' bill gates to afford this stuff, or.... be into the drug dealing scene.

edit: and why are we arguing? Yes it is very sad the guy got shot down but it is a fact he was into the hole drug scene and ultimately it bit him in the ass. Sad but true.

KNONFS 03-28-07 06:20 PM

EXACTLY, the pros (those running consistent 7.4) are not breaking engines left and right.

Hmmm, Siguel is\was the tunner and he is a Microtech guy, you will must probably never see him installing and tunning one of hi top customer's car with anything else.

Same goes for this sport anywhere else, you either run a car from coorporate america(where monye comes from GM, Summit Racing, Castrol) or you get your money from somewhere else. Remember Eddie Bello?
