Piston vs. Rotor West Coast Style
 

ok so in the works i have a class being arranged to have a piston vs rotor at the upcoming IFO event in fontana.
I spoke directly with the owner of IFO and he gave me the go ahead with it.
i will set up the class and the cash purse.
so basically it will be a run what you got set up.
i dont care if your 1/2 or 3/4 chassis
i dont care if your on a standard transmission or g force/jerico
i dont care if your on alky or gas
if you pass tech your good to go

Shouldn't it be~ fastest Rotor qualifier would pair up vs the slowest piston qualifier & vice verse?? Final should always be the 2 fastest cars of the division, there has to be @ least 1 qualifing pass to test n tune for the track.... Just sayin'

There will be 3 rounds of qualifying
The for sure thing will be each race will be a piston vs rotor regardless just need to sort it all out and have enough entrees

IDRC is this weekend.
I am about to make the arrangments for the piston/rotor class with IFO for next month on he 20th

In order for this to work there has to be some guys that show up and just like always it looks to be just me and chris and I will be running in the all motor class.

I don't understand how there can be hundreds of built rotaries at seven stock and local car shows and 2 cars on race day:icon_tdow

Wheres all the so-cal rotary shops and engine builders at? What about all the running race cars sitting in garages? FAIL!

The pist-on guys have been working on their cars for the event, I read allot hype when the challenged came up and now what? good luck to rotaries racing.

The corolla went 5.75@123 and 5.8@121 last night with some lifeless slicks. Rene is shaking and already retieing his shoes because we are coming for him lol.

i saw the runs last night good runs.....but not hanging my shoes yet.Need more funding to get rx3 going,engine is done need electronics.I have new shoes cause the old ones are worn out of kicking ass.....

About time we get to see some 1/4mile action in the west!!

Santos qualified #1 with 10.32
Sparklets ran 9.0 letting off 3/4 track on license pass

Santos is in the final and Sparklets just ran a 8.8 short shifting and letting off just pass 3/4 track

Ya Joe's car was straight as if it was on rails. Did Santo muster any better time than the 9's?
I know he ran 5.75 on an 1/8th. But the full 1/4 mile still differ than 1/8th. But all in all everyone ran good.. Congrats..

joe ran his PB 8.81@151 turbo rx7

Jay ran his PB 10.71@121 all motor on carb he also ran his best 1/8 mile 6.75

So it looks like rotaries cleaned house today, Until next event

Lol I wouldn't say all that we took home the quick class again that's 2 in the bucket this year.

We fought traction issues all day long we took power away and more power away. Spinning all of 1st 2nd and 3rd. Best 1/8th mile was a 6.4 so we are well behind on the curve. But we still pulled a 9.8 and 9.9 and the win so we are happy. Car weighs in at 2585lbs lol

Jose contests on the 8.8 it's about time papa and props to jay to battle it out with the all motor pros

It was a great weekend.....we had a ton of supporters on both side of the lines.Great food and racing was the best.Congrats on joe,jay, and santos for the good passes and santos for beating the hondas.

too bad irwindale has one good lane there would of been some good matches and see who can get out the line faster.

Starlet I think is rebuilding the motor. It happens when you run a stock motor lol
The all motor footage are pro and you can hang with them jay it's ok we all don't need 60psi. Lol
