Virginia Sport Compact Nationals...
"Left Lane: Ken Scheepers Runs 7.273/186.67, Now #1 Right Lane: Luis Corujo Runs 8.451/163.57, Now #2 Ken just smashed the current national record for ET - he'll have two more chances to back that up later today. Ken Scheepers' incremental times: 60ft-1.089 sec., 330ft-3.026, 660ft-4.657/154.00mph, 1,000ft-6.071" Dee also ran good with new car... "Left Lane: Paul Efantis Runs 7.606/185.64, Now #2 Right Lane: Dee Karagiannis Runs 7.663/176.07, Now #3 Big wiggles off the line for Efantis, Dee had has hands full as well. Neither driver lifted, the extra distance cost them some in the ET bank, but both runs give the teams plenty of data to tune from for the next round." Congrats and good luck to both this weekend. Ken is flying with that Street-ported motor :-) JD |

I'm gonna try go download the video off my friends camcorder, he got all the runs of Dee and Ken on tape.
We took the trip down from NYC to VA and to see that run, it was well worth the drive! Ken red lit on the 2nd pass to back it up but I think he has one more chance. Anthony |

Indeed he is. Ken is also running a two-piece eccentric shaft along with a custom bearing housing for the centre plate, both made by my friend Steve at Mechanical Power Systems (www.mpsys.ca). |
Thats awesome Ken ran so fast, but its kinda bad since it so early in the season. Now Paul will complain and more than likely NHRA will allow him to run a bigger turbo. He's ran a 7.2X already.

I got the phone call on this right after it happened on Saturday. MUCH congrats to Ken and Dee representing Mazda. Both of you guys are doing great! So where are all the full Peri port w/forced induction and Bridge port w/forced induction advocates now?(this doesn't include the Semi-PP guys) Since Ken is running a street port it goes to show you what a properly executed street port combination can do vs. a full PP or BP motor w/forced induction. I guess all you full PP and BP w/forced induction advocates will STFU concerning the arguement already! Too bad I didn't make it to VA this weekend, good luck to you guys in the elimination rounds.

Bandwagon racing!

Ken used to run a Kilo ported bridge engine, with no semi-pports. Did he change it?

Just got a call from VA. Dee and Ken in the final.

I just phoned VA to make sure about the port. I apologize, I only saw the center plate in FL, so I assumed it was a street port since I didn't know the secondaries were bridged, sorry about the comment and assumption to all you guys, I'll go sit in the corner of the room now, lol.

You guys are so anti port if it isn't streetport... hehe.. It sucks there's only 4 corners, where do we put all the other SP adversaries. lol... Everybody has different views and way's of making power this doesn't mean you should criticize other's because they do something different or think differently of you... rotorheads should stick together and team up to go against the enemy (pistons) not fight each other. |

I hear that stuff is so viotile that after the 1000ft mark you can shut off your ignition(spark) and your car will still run.... |
Another update: Ken wins the final in VA. Congrats to both him and Dee for a great all Mazda final.
Cris, Enzo, 680RWHP12A and Doc Holiday thanks for the lesson in STFU, lol. I'll make sure to bring you guys some of that salsa and pico de gallo at Etown, lol. |
