Hit the strip Friday w/mixed results

Mods listed below, 10# primary, 13# secondary, 30 psi of pressure in 245/45 Potenza S02pp's on stock rims.

60ft--------2.997
1/8 ET------9.6
1/8mph----88.6
1/4 ET-----14.03
1/4 mph---112.xx

This run was with no launch b/c I'm afraid of blowing up my rear diff. Also, my synchros in 2nd, 3rd and 4th are all grinding so I can't powershift. Also, my Tanabe suspension was way too stiff; next time I'm going to soften it.

Well, what do you guys think? W/a good launch and strong tranny, am I looking at mid 12's here?

P.S. My buddy said I was shooting flames going down the track :D

vosko 09-17-01 10:28 PM

which tanabe coilover setup did you get my friend has the sustec pro. he likes it alot.

HADNSE 09-18-01 02:54 AM

hoo-ah just look at that trap speed!
indicates big HP to me.
drivetrain needs attention.
good luck from a card carrying member of the (I broke a) halfshaft club!

ps. no fair not posting reaction time :P

thatoneguy 09-18-01 03:47 AM

You should be able to hit low 12s! I trapped a 13.0@111.1mph with just intake, full exhaust, and PFC w/ base maps and 14psi. That was in 90F So. Cal heat. I used Nitto 555Rs.

Slaps some drag radials on and go weeeee all the way down the track.

ErnieT 09-18-01 06:53 AM

I ran a 12.1 @ 112mph..... so your right there. I also had a 1.69 60' on drag radials so that helped too. Also, if your shooting flames the whole way down the track, your running too rich. You ought to dyno tune your Power Fc when you get the chance. Dave programs it very rich to be safe.

LUPE 04-06-06 02:53 PM

Don't you agree that we need a drag forum to put all these threads in? I do!

I love how half the 3rd gen specific threads on the first page are related to drag racing at the moment...lol

afterburn27 04-06-06 04:42 PM

Thanks for bumping all the old drag threads to make it look like we need a drag section. lol

BTW I wouldn't mind a drag section, just could have done without this little 'display'. :)

Seth W 04-06-06 06:07 PM

well it's good to know that I can beat my brother off the line but thats about it (me V6mr2 him rx7)

SiKoPaThX 04-06-06 06:32 PM

I do post on www.corral.net and http://www.turbomustangs.com/ but it's just not the same :tank:

FDNewbie 04-06-06 08:29 PM

That's not our problem, is it? :p: Don't mind me...I just frown on FD's being used at the drag strip. Rubs me the wrong way. Waste of an incredible hardcore performance machine, not a drag box on wheels ;)

Don't mind me......... I frown on anyone who enjoys driving in circles all day long. That nonsense gives me diarhea, literally.

FDNewbie 04-06-06 08:32 PM

It's not a circle. It's tons of turns. I don't think Nascar allows FD's on the track... ;)

Same thing........ all that turning gives me the squirts.

FDNewbie 04-06-06 08:34 PM

Hahaha...that's hilarious. Breaking 1001 parts not engineered to take the *severe* damage of just trying to come off the line makes my stomach flip...

DGblk93 04-06-06 08:37 PM

Seriously LUPE, I read that post right after you drug it up this afternoon and all I could think was :weed: - what got into him??

I didn't want to be the first to say something.

By the way Michael Savage is great - he's completely psychotic.
