Here is a little 4 minute clip I put together from the "All Out" Show.. The last race is Ari.. Enjoy!!!! :op:

1RevvinFC3S 11-29-06 11:47 PM

 Damn... he lost... FUCKING V8's!!!!! lol

bkg 12-16-06 12:11 AM

Isn't that car still registered cuz it was tagged during the run. Also isn't it running 9.15's not long ago.

No_Rotor_RX7 12-16-06 12:48 AM

i spoke with him about that event... he was having clutch issues and trying to dial in the car. he wasn't allowed to be faster than 10's and said all his qualifying runs were around 10.20's but on that race with the mustang everything came together and he was going to run way too fast so he let out. he told me he pretty much coasted from the 1/8 mile to the finish hahahah!

the following day without changing anything he ran a 9.50 so yea.. he would have been disqualified anyways for being too fast :(

EJayCe996 12-16-06 01:01 AM

What flagged me was the fact that Ari friggen destroyed that Mustang out of the hole and then "seemed" to get beat on the top end...... a turbo rotary... beat on top end by a stang... riiiiight :)

bkg 12-17-06 11:19 AM

yeah no lie top end is were we rule. But is it still street registered cuz from a back issue of turbo he was running 9.50's I think and drove his car for quite a distance for the photo shoot. BTW how much power is he pumping out now from my understanding its like 650 but his suspension and traction setup is wicked. Thanks for the replies also :)

1QWIK7 12-17-06 12:20 PM

Saw that one stang i believe that popped a wheelie??

Holy shit, talk about torque.

bkg 12-17-06 12:27 PM

it weird how domestics and imports pop wheelies a domestic hits right from get go and torque falls off but the imports kinda lift up off launch but then when boost hits they rise up and stay uo til they shift. Cool stuff

WNT2CREALPAIN 01-08-07 06:50 PM

Wish Ari would have won but shit happens lol

ihavetwins 01-14-07 10:28 PM

that was a good race too bad for the ari tho.

mono4lamar 02-02-07 02:47 PM

we all know what goes on with the single turbo rotary top ends :)

PvillKnight7 02-02-07 02:58 PM

did he lose his car? i thought it had a 3rotor??

mono4lamar 02-02-07 03:45 PM

no he didnt lose his car it was open racing. and no it was a 13b. a 20 b wouldnt make a difference in that race since you cant run better than a 10.0.

Jasil 02-02-07 05:53 PM

It's just glorified bracket racing and with automatics it's hard to beat a dialed in V-8. Go look at what some of these guys run I'm talking within .05 between passes ex. 10.05, 10.01, 10.09 it's pretty nuts.

ErnieT 02-18-07 08:05 PM

Now that Ari is lerking on the forum, maybe he can give some pointers for the show :D

ari 02-18-07 08:26 PM

Yes, I finally made it here, a little late, but it seems to be my style at times. I'm looking forward to picking up new ideas and sharing what I learn. Best of wishes for a great season to everyone.

Thanks for the compliment, Dan's a great guy and a commited rotary racer. It seems that there are plenty of solid racers on here!!! I'm looking forward to learning from all the rotary drag guys on here in the future.

For now I'm just trying to learn how to properly post and get my signature to come up...

13B-RX3 02-18-07 08:46 PM

Finally once and for all the "Ari was using this trans" and "Ari ran this time" questions will be answered once and for all!:)

Great to have you aboard Ari, i am sure we can learn a lot from you.

Allen

Ari, nice to see that you are alive. Are you coming back? There is a car in Miami that took over your record and adams next.

There is no comparison between those two cars. They're both in completely different classes.

I hope to make be able to run a little this year, I'm trying to find a hans piece that I can afford. Looks like they sell for around $850- $900 - WOW!!

I'm glad someone finally broke the record, it gives me something to shoot for. The fatest I ever went was 9.27 and 9.30 on all mazda drivetrain (eng, trans, R/E) What's the new number???

timemachines 02-21-07 11:21 AM

full interior we just got no lights
slicks
alcohol=we have the same power that we had whe we were running on c16..
wait, r u comparing this guy and us, cuz we aint, we just did a good run and we post them here so u should look at things from diferent view our car weighs more than urs did our weighs 2400lbs without the driver and we were able to get better times than u did us on a low budget holley carburator on c16, stock tranny suspension n rear end.(not a solid 8.8) so u r not one to talk and compare by the way we dont care bout how complete the car is what counts is the weight of the car..

P.S .. we dont have nothing against ARI we actually love his car...so butt out

Dude, I was just asking a question.

Relax :rlaugh:

I was trying to validate my comment to REDRUM7KILR about you taking the record. Records only hold to their classes. Since you and Ari are in different classes, you didn't take his record.

didnt he run 9.1? on slick? and a g-force?

ari 02-21-07 01:38 PM

Hi there... What a small world, I've been watching time machines videos on youtube.com for the past few months. 9.02 is awqesome, especially for a 26x8.5, I usually run a 26x10.

I did a test pass that someone taped from the stands at the begining of '05, it was 9.15@152 on a 4sp H-pattern g-force and et streets. I normally run the mazda box (with stock internals for now) during competition, so I don't really consider that my record time.

The best ET for the car was at NHRA Pomona 2003 (modified class), I ran 9.08@155 in qualifing, I bogged at the launch and only pulled 1.52 60'. I think that with a good 60, the car would have run 8.80's or high 70's, but it never did. I never dipped into the 8's.

My target is 8.99 on gas using a complete Mazda drivetrain, I don't know if I'll ever get there, but it sure would be cool.

Good luck with your 2nd gen and congrats on the great performance on only 8.5" tires

would be realy nice to c ur car dip into the 8's we know u can do it u should really consider the 4speed and really run the car to show other 3rd gens that r running in the high 8s,,,love ur car by the way we saw it at moroso in the accident againt dynamic turbo supra wich sucked (sad day) and at gainsville...good luck with ur car would b really nice to c it run again..

ari 02-21-07 06:54 PM

This season I'll try to run the Nopi turbo street class, I think I can be competitive there. I might make an NHRA event in the SRW class, but I don't think I can hang with the 9.0 subaru..., especially with the new weight requirements.

This season I'll be running a Mazda box in competition, I might use the 4sp g-force in testing because it's much stronger. I need to find a new solution to my Mazda trans for this season, when I was runing last, I had to rebuild it after every race...

Give Liberity Transmission a call. Craig has a very nice setup for the stock case. :)

ari 02-21-07 06:59 PM

I'll check it out. Last time I spoke with him, he wasn't sure when they'll have time to mess with the rotary, they were up to their neck in a new Honda box they just released...

i've herd that Enzo Racing was working with liberty to have stronger internals made for the 3rd gen case and its supposed to be far superior to the PPG and Guru boxes...i think they said it was costing a few hundred $ less than the aussie trannys and that price included shipping the case to/from liberty & having them do the install.. maybe enzo can elaborate on this?

Heard the same also. :)

enzo250 02-23-07 12:20 AM

Yeah i'm working on something right now...

I'll give more details shortly...

RoTaRyBoYz 02-24-07 01:51 AM

what about autos? guys in australia are using the mazda 3speed jatco autos and rebuilding them alot stronger to run high 8's... these autos have all custom internals, trans brake & high stall converter to get a 2800lb car with 28x9 into the high 8's....some cars are reporting a more consistant 60ft and & 1/2 drop in Et's...any comments? here a c/p the mail i got from Keas transmissions down in Oz about there jatcos...

Aaron,

Baseline model we offer is a 350kW (470hp) Transbrake model. From there you can option up better internals.

Core availability is an issue over here (the Rotary Model has a unique Valve Body and Servo/Piston set) so if your wanting parts then I will need your Valve Body and Intermediate Servo/Piston set for reworking.

Your basically dealing with a C4 that is already 98% rollerised, requires minimal Lubrication modifications and interchanges parts with 90% of all JATCO 3N71B and 4N71B models. We offer tech Sheets for Trade Customers showing our modifications during rebuilding.

Torque Converters
Choice of Hi Stall will greatly depend on Engine Porting/Turbo specs and desired results.
Generally Speaking:
Smallish Turbo and a mild Port= Reworked JATCO 9"
GT35-40 to GT42R with extend Ports- JATCO 7.5"
Larger Turbo and/or Bridge/Peripheral Port- Toyota 7". Highly recomend GAS to stop start line delays during spooling.

Prices in AUS $ (x 0.79 to convert to US$)
2nd Hand JATCO R3A $200.00
350kW Transbrake 3 Speed JATCO R3A $2,200.00
Options
Lift Rating to 540hp- VASCO Plus Billet Input Shaft $300.00
Lift Rating to 600hp- VASCO Plus Billet Input Shaft $300.00, Chrome Moly Nitrided 4 Pinion Forward Planetary Set $300.00, Thick Wall Cast Alloy Pan $220.00

Parts
Transbrake Valve Body Assembly $700.00
Billet Servo Piston $70.00
VASCO Plus Billet Input Shaft $300.00
Chrome Moly Nitrided 4 Pinion Forward Planetary Set $300.00
Thick Wall Cast Alloy Pan $220.00

Torque Converters
JATCO 9" $800.00
GM 8" $1,500.00
JATCO 7.5" $1,200.00
Toyota 7" $1,600.00

kabooski 02-24-07 06:46 AM

I've been saying lets use a auto for competition for while now
specially for those wanting to run in the Nopi and NHRA street class

The ESX Subaru runs a australia hybrid automatic transmission
and has run 9.00 in the sport rwd class

How the hell are we going to compete with that?
if Ari could run 9.2-9.4 with a 5 speed at SRWD weight
then in a Auto I'm sure he could match subi girls times

ari 02-24-07 11:26 AM

Hey Robert, it's been a long while...

I hope to get to travel a little this year, I'm not sure yet. Maybe we can meet up sometime, it'll be good to run again, like old times!!!

I was talking to Ari last wenesday at R.P. He told me he is going to try to make it out to Nopi. I'm going out on Sunday to cheer you both on. Good luck! :icon_tup:

ari 02-25-07 05:18 PM

these days it seems that the Hondas really set the pace. It's amazing!!! A FWD 4cyl semi-street car running faster than 9.5-9.6
Awesome performance!!!

My plan is to get out there and try to help carry the flag for the rotaries... we'll see what happens, things don't always go according to the plan
