What fuel pump are you running? Mechanical? I am just about ready to make the swap. Btw what did you do for brakes or are you pulling the shoot? I know mine sucked at 140mph can't imagine 160 on stickers.

The little areomotive mechanical (everyone says it's underrated flow wise) but my fuel press isn't dropping so my math is better than theirs lol
They run mechanicals on nascar and sprint cars, it's the way to go

Yes chute, best thing on the car, our shut down lane is bumpy as hell, literally past 140 you have to break, then let the car squirm, then brake a again, on and off
The hps's smell like fire when you come down from 155
The chute is nice and gradual no breaks at all

Mazderati 08-16-14 10:09 AM

Awesome.

Congrats man!

With all those stock parts, you must be using a clutch flow control valve?

The FCV looses to much time and mph. I've spent a lot of time studying my countless data logs and have done more with the shimming of the pressure plate and boost control ramps

The FCV is incredible till you get to a point, then you have to make so much more power to overcome the loss of power you actually stress the parts more than making less power but being effective in applying the power

beefcake 08-16-14 08:32 PM

Goes alright aye :) !

KNONFS 08-16-14 08:49 PM

CONGRATS dude!

That's a world record for stock tranny, right?

WLD 07 08-18-14 05:03 AM

Can you expand more on this? Doesnt the FCV only slips the clutch slightly on launches? Where the loss of power comes from?

Not unless you do the crispeed way with a line lock and bad ass plumbing+ controll

The FCV does it ever time you shift, and the more power you making the more the "slip" is pronounced (think 40psi of boost at 8800) so the small slip you want at the line can be a big slip on boost, but you need slip or you break, but to little slip like no slip but a little slip is just right
Its only logical when you think of it, but achieving it takes a lot of engineering.

Yes! The car clearly has more in her, I've had a 1.28 60' this year... However the 5.800 in the 1/8!!!!!!! I'm more pumped at that, that is moving and grooving!
