13B Headers for "All Motor" Drag Racing

Who makes a good set of 13B Headers for a "All Motor" Drag Race Application?

Thanks
Albert

Albert...

All motors are different ..With relation to the port ..hp curve etc..
Do you know the cheap spray paint trick?

rotaryengineering 08-09-06 04:39 PM

Specifically looking for 13B Headers for a P-Port Application

OK maybe I was not specific in my original post so I'll narrow down my question to Headers for a P-Port Application.

Thanks

Trying to increase your post #'s? What a worthless post. WHen I automatically think "All Motor" I think big ass bridge or P-Port....obviously he wants someone he can discuss this with for some custom work. Porting specs discussed then....and not before.

Albert ...
try a regular RB header if it can clear your intake tubes.. then extend the primaries say 10" from the end of the straight tubes.. You may have to cut with a saw-sall or somehting.. Spray some cheap spray paint on the tubes then where the paint stops pealing you know you need to collect both pipes. ..I would use a 5" 3 tube to a Borla XR1.. .. On all headers make sure ou take a small grinder to the inlet tube of the header where it connects with the housing port. The tube is rairly centered right and will always benefit from a funnel type. .Hopfuly i did not loose you.

Kilo has something similar but i am sure there is "brega" in it.
Another car that has a nice setup is Wl Wao from PR its a Datsun 1200 that runs 9.8..tuned by Sarito..

Kilo's header is suprisingly shorter and has a smaller colecter tube...i would guess 2.5... I always thought that small dia tubing would choke the engine or cause backfire but kilo has 9.8 @ 2150 LBS reasons why it works.

Try calling MAyol Speed Shop in Manati Puerto Rico @ 787-884-9044...
If he cant get it he can perhaps send you to the right people Cronopio, Vivo etc.

Or maybe even Kilo Racing .

Dios Te bendiga!!

If you want a compromise header then buy a something that's available on the market. The headers will make or break an ''All Motor'' combination. The only header heder that works is one that is tuned for the combination. Header design for all motor is based on a number of factors, rpm use, racing type, fuel used etc. Header design is based on primary length and 'id' dimensions, collector merge angle and exit diameter etc.
'PP' like short primaries like 10 to 13 inches with a collector 'ID' around 2.375 to 2.5 inches. which should merge into a 'megaphone' with an exit diameter of 3.5 to 4 inches depending on muffler entry size if used.
And again like I said the only header that works best is one that is tuned to the application so it takes a lot of R&D to acheived the right combination.
You should try and get in contact with 'Gato' from Orlando, Florida. He does very good fabrication and also did most of the work on 'Kilo's' car.

Hey riceburner,

What did you end up buying for your "All Motor" setup? You said you were thinking about the SDJ Header but, did you end up buying one for your ride.

riceburner1r2001 11-22-06 03:22 AM

nope i never did albert. did u ever get those rx8 rotors u wanted

rotaryengineering 11-22-06 10:16 AM

Do you have any RX-8 parts available?

Hey do you have a telephone number for your buddy with the brown RX-7 that was at Fontana this past weekend. I saw your car, but I did not see you. I am trying to contact people that will be able to participate next year in the "All Motor" Class. I have approximately 10 people now, but looking for as many as possible. My goal is to find at least 16 people that are willing to participate in the local Socal events.

Do you plan on racing in the "All Motor" Class next year?

I know when I ran into you a couple of years ago you mentioned that you were building a car for that class.

Let me know if your interested as well.

Thanks
Albert
