NA peripheral port intake box/plenum pics
 
Anyone got pictures of diffrent designs on NA peripheral port intake box/plenum chambers?

My 4 rotor build is on it's way and would like some ideas on how to build it.

So if anyone got some pictures of intake boxes/plenum chambers for a peripheral port 2, 3 or 4 rotor engine please post them here.

Pics of race cars would be the best.

Thanks for the pics but not what im looking for.

Im looking for pictures of NA PP intake boxes from Mazda cars. Pref 2nd gen, 3rd gen and RX8. The thing is to come up with a solution of moving the engine 5 inches back, and then getting clear of the firewall without having to cutting it.

So pref pictures of Mazda RX cars with PP intake boxes.

Aluminum Sheet is my guess because it says it on the front of plenum. Nice touch by adding injectors in front of what will be inlet trumpets!! Not enough racers use the benefits of going this route and there is quit a bit of power to be gained by this.

If you looked at those welds you'd know they're everything but aluminum. Looks like a mild steel because of the gray color to the metal (mill scale). But it could possibly be stainless.

Anyway Jantore, just make sure to have a raised velocity stack inside the plenum and try your best to make it a symmetrical manifold. Depending on your budget and throttle response tastes you can employ multiple throttle bodies into your design. List what you want out of the car and I can help make some solid recommendations. I've built a couple of intake manifolds for boosted and NA applications and I've been pretty spot on each time :)

Your right, I didn't look that close at it. I just saw "MIUM SHEET" which can read "Aluminium sheet". Some countries use Aluminium rather then aluminum. Also, there is "alumi-nium" clad sheet steel. But yeah, after lookng closer at the pics it does look like steel/stainless due to the welds.

Sorry, forgot to add that the pics I posted are from a forum member here from Australia- Dave20bpp. The box is made out of sheetmetal as most boxes are.

looking good so far hehe. Want som more designs, the intake will be from the front or the side of the box as i will be taking the air from infront of the radiator. So the air box that will catch the air will go over the radiator.

I was wondering whether it was simple galvanized steel, aluminum, or stainless?

Ive always been told the opposite. Maybe they're yankin my chain, but the welders I work with tell me Ti is fairly easy to weld with. Or at least much easier to work with than alum.

Hey guys yeah that is my AIRBOX i was thinking of putting some pics up but i saw it was done for me thanks heaps i hate uploading photo's. It is definatly aircraft grade TITANIUM and as for welding i didn't have any filler rod so i had to fuse it all together and once there is a gap in titanium it get really hard without filler!!!

As for welding titanium it is piss easy just as easy as stainless the only thing is to keep the titanium from going brittle it needs to be purge welded, which means the welds can not be exposed to oxygen till they have reached a certain temprature.

Ya its just that purge welding that makes it a bit harder ... it can be done in a purged room, or you have to purge gas top and bottom of the weld or else it'll crack as you're welding it.
