N-Tech HI Flow Cat
 

I looked at the N-Tech web page and their hi flow cat looks pretty nice. I do not understand what is meant by, "Comes with a plugged hole that can be used for the air pump with some modification. " Do I need to remove my air pump after adding this mod or do I keep it? I would like to install this myself. Any suggestions...

I've been looking for a way to be emission legal without the airpump.

I sent them (N-tech) an email about that too a few days ago and have yet to hear back. I suspect that the hole needs to be unplugged and your airpump hooked up to it to avoid damaging it. I got an email back from RX7.com and he said that any cat you go with on the 7 needs the airpump hooked up or damage will occur to it because the rotary exhaust is much higher than a piston's and due to the amount of fuel that is spent.

Going on 4 years with my N-Tech with no air pump and the hole plugged. CAT flows very nicely, and the brick(s) look like they did when first put on (color change only).

That's encouraging to hear. Would you please post what your last HC, CO and CO2 readings were?

I spoke to Nick about the high-flo as I'm switching to this as well. He told me the air pump was not needed for the cat. The air pump only engages at low rpms anyway. Better to call him, usually easier to get a hold of that way.

where can i purchase this cat. i know u can purchase it at N-tech.com but is there any other places where i can get it for. and also what other cat are highly reconmended? With this car is it possible to shoot flames with DP and Catback? just curious

The site for N-Tech is www.n-tech.net and typically you need dp and mp for flames. This is just what I hear.
