Massive streetport

Well i designed this port for a race only 13b running around 15-18 psi boost, i had looked at a picture of judge ito's monster port before making it, hense its giganticness. What i am wonder is if this is extreme over kill, i would like the engine to produce boost extremely quickly as the transmission is a c4 automatic with a 5000 stall converter. Here is a pic of the template i made sitting over an old 1974 13b housing. The opening edge follows the side seal path. And the closing edge is 73 degrees ABDC

no corner seal support if the design is the big outter one i see, hence bridge port.

the coner seal is supported, well 1/2 to 2/3's of it is supported

i have a hole cut in the middle of the plexi glass it is on and i just it over a rotor in the housing and just spin the rotor and the corner seal is supported the whole intire way. I am going to be using 12a housings so they do have a lot of meat on them for porting i figure i will go over and leave 1-2 mm of thickness and then after that just roll the end over until i get to the end of my port design. Then it will have a nice smooth progressive roll so i won't munch up the side seals

Here are a couple pics of judge itos monster streetports, kind like what i am aiming for. With most stage 2 ports the side seals are unsuported over the intake except for the leading edge alsways must have support, does that pespex idea leave you with a scribed line from the side seal leading edge? here is a pick of my port. i think youll find it very similer size to judge ito. this is done with the measurement or size calculation and dimesions given above. |
i hope to rival Ito's ports when i finish with my new templates ...
