Lithium batteries?

Anyone gone ahead and tried lithium battery, either lithium ion or lifepoe4? Curious if it's worth the weight savings and the ability to move the battery back up front simplifying the charging circuit.

I used the biggest Shorai LiFePo4 back in 2013 on my FD race car.

I ised it daily in my miata a couple years too when my FD was down.

It cranks the car hard, but dont get a 2nd chance if you forget and leave the fans on and car off too long and it can kill the battery jump starting it

Its ~3-4lbs and in the FD I tucked it on the frame rail where AC was.

When I have to buy another battery I will try one with auto-off and restart mode (shuts down with enough reserve to start car if drained) despite the extra cost.

Anti grav atx 20
braille g20

These are the 2 we use in everything and they are excellent. The atx 20 is incredible. Cranking for ~10min (collectively) with no jumper the voltage dropped to ~12.4 from ~13.1 full charge. Don't ask why we were doing that, we just were 😅😅😅.

The g20 is pretty good too. It's a bit bigger though. We default to the atx20 when we can.

Antigravity ATX-30 HD is 7.8lbs, which is 30lbs lighter than stock.

Here's my battery relocation installation:
