say it ain't so you are putting a carb on a Rx7. :gay:
|
actually there are fuel injection TB for holly manifolds
and work great |
what's wrong with carbs? it's the only way to make big N/A power without big bucks....
oh yeah forgot about the big throttle bodies too... (I thought the stock TB was more than big enough though  ) |
carbs are old tech, cheeper yes but less efeshent, it's like comparing turbo to supercharger actualy a little worse.
BY THE WAY I CAN"T SPELL:confused: |
Actually, carbs atomize fuel a lot better than injectors because they emulsify the fuel before it gets to the venturis...
|
I agree with PeeJay. I sure want Fuel injection, but can not justify it for some time. When you barely have enough money to rebuild a engine and don't have a forced induction setup. Carbs can be the best choice sometimes. I could buy a adjustible EFI for $1500 + correct injectors,
high pressure fuel delivery, wiring harness, etc, etc..to make it work or buy a carb that is readily tunable, very reible and fast to get running very good if you are even remotely intellagent. . I agree though you could get a normally asperated engine running 99.5%of were it should be with a EFI setup, but a carb would be able to be 98% of were it should be with much less cost. |
there plenty of carbed rotary's running 8's 7's
not even the land of EFI can match a WEBBER powered FC 7.6 1/4 and has been doing it now for 5 years while just recently the aussies have hit 7's http://www.monito.com/Images/rafaelito1999.jpg beat that! |
kabooski - the land of EFI has persisted with pro-streeters and is only just venturing seriously into new tube frames. The 2nd Oz rotary sedan into the 7's did it with a mostly steel body and factory power windows (mazfix). The first into the 7s was a tube frame that was around 10 years old.
In normally aspirated form webers are great, but an average efi weber style throttle body will realise more power - a very good set of throttle bodies on a purpose built manifold and with very good tuning will see a 10% power increase over the average efi set-up on the same engine. THe efi does give better drivability and idle as well. |
Manifolds?
Why do you keep saying they have manifold when I been calling for 2 months and they are still not available.
