Not BS. The Z06 is probably making ~385 rwhp...
Stock Z06 have run high 11's at 117 bone stock. If you notice the majority of cars that he takes out are Ferrari 360's. The 911 TT runs even or is slightly faster.

Nice kills! hahah makes me kinda want to get a C6 ZO6 when i get into my late twenties.

1QWIK7 08-11-05 08:55 AM

haha that turbo porsche gave him a run for his money

nice vid

matty 08-11-05 01:11 PM

impressive.

Late twenties, hah, more like your late 50's more like. Don't you know Corvettes are old rich guy cars. I'd love to have one, but beyond my financial reach, that why I have an FD, still expensive though, especially when you blow motors. On my fourth one now.

What? The Rx-7 was the same price as the vette in 1993. If your on your 4th motor you would have better off with a vette. (cheaper)

Ferrari's and Lambo's are "rich" old guys cars...

It's the other way around. The Z06 owner probably spent half of what the Turbo Porsche owner did.

rx7n3wb 08-11-05 03:49 PM

Just remember that every single cent you spend on a car isn't for the power. The whole who spent more for what argument is getting old.

Yeah the vette may be faster but I bet those ferraris and lambos drop more panties than the z06 ever will, lol

turbogarrett 08-11-05 07:19 PM

Sweet video, although I got a lil' dizzy from the camera work!

nope

a turbo porsche will always be better than a chevy corvette, i dont care how much hp it makes stock..:)

ItalynStylion 08-11-05 07:39 PM

This was posted on the supra forums too. I have the link to the real size video if anyone wants it

G's 3rd Gen 08-11-05 07:59 PM

Its hard to determine who is faster than who anyway.. The only fair race I saw the porsche turbo was about even....Anyway interesting clip..

Are you pointing out that some of my money goes towards my car's looks? This is true, but you if you saw either of my cars ('93 RX-7 and '97 DeVille) you wouldn't say that. Everybody has different values, and I'm more interested in getting the most bang for my buck.

Only because you don't like to hear it. It takes intelligence and creativity to squeeze blood from a dollar.

You don't need a nice car to drop panties. My suggestion to exotic car owners would be to invest more in confidence and humor.

please video record it

those gumballs need some real import muscle in there..and since rx7s cant or wont step up, supra guys need to..i think there was an R33 in the gumball like 3 years ago..

lovintha7 08-12-05 05:02 PM

Maybe these guys buy Lambo's and Ferrari's and turbo Porches because they are enthusiasts. Some, if not most are for status symbol, but these guys were racing....repeatedly. A status symbol owner would quit after losing the first race. He'd be looking for what the other guy had.

And if you look at the road tests, 360's and Z06's are quite even in terms of performance on a track. With some mods, yes he can put the smack down on most of those cars. Which he did, quite nicely.

Beast From The East 08-12-05 05:31 PM

Funny how we didn't see any video where he tried to challenge the F50 or the Enzo.....I think he knew there was another league out there he wouldn't want to play in.....

I've not heard of stock z06's making 385 at the wheels - more like 345 using the old 15% drivetrain loss rule. However, I am not a Corvette enthusiast and would defer to the ones that lurk around here. Do the mods mentioned in the video really add 50 bhp? I didn't believe that piston engines responded so well to breathing changes like that vs. the rotary, which really benefits.

Still, it does have to feel good to be able to have a car that performs as well or better than cars that are signficantly more expensive. However, I'd get really tired of driving a Corvette when I'd see another 5 just like mine in the 7 miles I drive from home to work and back......thick as theives they are here in NorCal. I've only seen two 360s in the last 4 years in this area.

To each his own. The camera work was a bit frenetic. I feel like I need to lie down.....

I thought gallardo was 500 hp to the crank...around 450 to the wheels..shouldn't that be faster than the vette?

Full exhaust and intake would very easily add 50hp or more to a restricted V8. Not so much with a 4 banger though.

DCSHOECOUSA had 3 STi's in the gumball this year...they pwned the exotics in the low end. In the top end? The exotics pulled away with ease.

turbogarrett 08-12-05 11:12 PM

Stock z06's usually dyno in the 350's, with the LG longtubes etc. 385 sounds about right. He did pull the lambo harder than I would expect........
