Thanks for clearing some stuff up.

Yes a bolt on 370Z would be a better race. Which is what i was arguing the whole time.

I guess people just get excited that an FD beat a modern day car. Just so happens your FD was 100rwhp more than its opponent :D

He would still get smoked like nothing obviously, which was my point it still wouldnt have a chance and saying "it could be out of its efficiency or not boosting properly goes the same way for the 370 with bolt-ons. I guess to each his own, just didnt seem worth mentioning because it wouldn't have changed the outcome to the point where the z would not have gotten smoked or even had a chance and that is what my point was.

don't listen to the haters, you have a sports car, gotta have fun with it. Just be safe

You have no point really, you're posting with pure ignorance.

How is a stock Z and a Z with 325rwhp gonna get "smoked" like nothing?? Are you implying if you lose a race, no matter the HP level, its called "getting smoked"?? lol I love your usage of words lol

Like i said, if the OP raced a bolt on Z, you wont see anything getting "smoked".

b0bab0i 01-30-10 12:31 PM

^ is weight any difference?

370z is around ~3250lb
Rx7 is around ~2850lb

difference of 400lbs

era1oner 01-30-10 12:32 PM

nice vid, i seen crazy people race and record all by them selfs , now that stupid ( hope you had your seat belt on)lol

Sorry if my use of words are hard for you to figure out. I forgot we are typing on a forum so I will talk like a robot when responding to you. Lets look back at all I was trying to say.

The z raced a single fd and lost by a lot. You responded "if the z had bolt on's it would be a better race"

I do not see the point in posting that because the z would still lose and it would not be a close race at all. I dont know about you but when I have raced cars with less horsepower and weigh more I beat them pretty badly.

If all you were trying to say was the z does great with bolt ons, cool! I just didnt get why you were implying it would be a good race with bolt ons. Anyways I am done arguing over this, see you on the forum :).

Its not hard to figure out actually, its just placed incorrectly. And IMO, rather childish to use such words.

Why dont you see a point? What is so hard to understand from that simple statement?

If the Z had bolt ons, it would be a better race. Are you saying it wont? If so, you are just plain dumb.

Or are you assuming i said the Z would BEAT the FD if it had bolt ons? If so, then you are dumb and cant comprehend what you read. Because i did not use such words.

No you're right, i AM implying it would be a good race with bolt ons.

Its simply really. A bolt on Z would do better in a race than a stock Z. Like wtf, what idiot doesnt know that?

Jeez some people here.

doduong11 02-03-10 10:28 AM

hahaha ok guys just calm down, i'm just trying to share the video for you guys to see. There's no need to argue among each other here, so please just let it be.

Oh by the way sorry i also forgot to mention, carbon fiber doors, hood, trunk and fenders and plexiglass on doors and hatch . How much weigh does that save. I think about 200 pounds, what do you guys think?

deletedcold 02-04-10 03:37 PM

Nice kill. I think those things are ugly to begin with. :P

This FD just beat it. Thats all. There was no ass whoop.

A bolt on Z would have a better chance and if you dont think so, comparing to a stock Z lol, something is wrong with your brain.

The 370z was approx 2 car lenghts ahead, AND got the hit while the rx7 was OFF boost. The RX7 proceeds to pull all the way around and put 1.5-2 cars on it in a matter of seconds. If that isn't an asswhooping, what is it?

exactly what I was trying to say, he thinks a single would be a good race but a single turbo z would be a good race in my terms.

FearNoPiston 02-05-10 01:36 AM

sorry I meant bolt on*

lol what forum have you been on? here on the kills section arguments are the norm and practically expected... Off the top of my head they have included: Srt-4's, camaros, Z06's, sti's, mustangs, 911's, Rsx's (yeah you heard right... rsx. we had aguy who was arguing that a 200 HP NA four banger was a decent match to an FD.) and now 370Z's. Honestly we have probably argued about every car that is considered sporty, and some that are not... *cough* rsx :D

Me personally, I believe that 1QWIK7 does it for entertaining purposes, as I do.

Then you have your own meaning for asswhooping then.

And you guys are still missing the fact is i said a bolt on Z would be a better race. I never said a bolt on Z would beat this single FD, nor "asswhoop" it, so please guys, remove your kotexs.

Then someone said its still gonna be an asswhooping lol

So a 325rwhp car will have the same result as a 280rwhp car? LOL

Cause thats what you guys are implying.

Exactly. I'm a devils advocate for both sides. I cant just praise only for the FD. Why should I? Because i own one??

How gay would this forum be if all we did was praise the FD like its god??

"o you beat a ferrari even though you have a 800rwhp 20B Gt42??? YOUR CAR IZZZZZ ZAAAA BEST!!!!!"

gtfo lol.

I give credit when credit is due. I am not discrediting the OP's win though.

I CLEARLY SAID, a bolt on Z would be a better race. THen people on their period said, "NO, it wont, FD would still asswhoop it". lol

Like seriously, i remember people in HS getting mad over stuff like that.

SayNoToPistons 02-11-10 06:10 AM

the 7 cant lose

2Fierce 02-12-10 04:30 PM

You guys are way too stubborn sometimes. Sure the 7's a great car, but don't insult Z's.

http://vimeo.com/8948049

sg-motorsport.com < local shop made 327whp on stock head/block. Yes, thats boltons and NA. At the tracks, mind you this car is a dedicated racecar, but it runs the same times as biggered powered vettes, vipers, and fd's.

Z's are highly detuned from factory, with stupid long gearing. Put a 4.10 rear end in, haltech platinum pnp, boltons, witha serious clutch and done. BTW, that's a 350Z I posted. Nevermind the 370. It's capabilities aren't anywhere near potentialized. FD's are 17 years old, everyone knows their limits and capabilities.

PS: racing down the highway from a roll isn't racing, its button mashing (I think another forum member posted that?, its not mine, I'm quoting someone.)

93rx74lyfe 02-13-10 02:49 PM

FD>370z

/Thread.

Oh yeah, nice kill. :)

turbotommy 02-14-10 02:22 PM

fd's blow....

FearNoPiston 02-14-10 02:58 PM

A single z would be a better race than a bolt on z :tonque:

Man I love lurking in the kill section and arguing whenever possible oh and occasionally calling people immature too.

pot looked like it could be stirred a bit

rx7 SE 02-14-10 04:34 PM

interesting thread, lol, like all kills threads have become.

If I was in the 370z I woulda felt like I had just had my butt handed to me....aka, drove past and not initiated another race just like he did, lol. Plus a friend of mine who has a 91 TII with a BNR stage 1 on 10 psi beat a stock 370z, not by much tho.

A better race would be for those two cars around a track, 370z is at a loss on the straights but from what I hear they handle amazing...well, not like the FD doesn't too haha.

To the OP, good kill

Mazda RX-7 EFINI TYPE 02-14-10 09:05 PM

Ya...I don't see a 370z doing anything to an FD around a track. Even by "modern standards" the FD is still among the best track wise. By no means outdated :P .

rx7 SE 02-14-10 09:12 PM

^^^ True, I was a passenger in one around a few curves and I was like...."my fc can't do that" lol

Mazda RX-7 EFINI TYPE 02-15-10 03:35 PM

Well seeing as the FEED & RE-Amemiya FDs are still top contenders for time attack...they is awesome. Even FCs hold their own (at least the RE-Amemiya...lol) though not quite FD material. I believe the RE-A FD still owns the touge...beat then new MCR GT-R (R35) also...FD all the way :P. Hopefully I can get my hands on one soon...next year or 2.

KKMpunkrock2011 02-15-10 04:53 PM

I bone stock 370z taking more than a few hard laps around a track is gonna have problems, a guy on the local boards said they have oil over-heating problems and one of the first things a lot of people do is upgrade the stock oil cooler, what other car has those problems...
