S2000

I came to the sad realization today.....my car isn't fast enought for me anymore. There were to S2000's in front of me going down the road and they both were messing around then I herd them hit WOT and I was like, what the hell...lets play. The first S2000 was bone stock and I cought up to him but the other had something done, I know he had exhaust but what else???? He just kept on going...I was going about 4000 rpm in 4th when we stopped...he was a little too fast for me. Now I need to do some more work on the car. Dang.

i was tod from a friend of mine who has an s2k that thhey run like a 13.8 in the quarter stock, maybe he's b.s.ing but either way thats pretty quick.

Weed Wacker 03-08-06 04:28 PM

tod = told

DrewS2k 03-09-06 12:52 PM

yeah there have been a few on the s2k boards that have done that takes a good driver though

KeloidJonesJr. 03-09-06 01:27 PM

S2K = Vtec. You don't want to mess with that.

13.8 is feasible...but you are definitely going to have to beat the piss out of it...and be a great driver. :)

Cmon, SNTP..we know better than to swear by magazine numbers don't we? :)

AznPhoenix 03-09-06 04:39 PM

werd. s2ks rnt that fast. I pulled 1/2 a car on one with my friends 3.5 se altima 5spd. from a roll 35-70.

ecyrb | SLC 03-09-06 05:00 PM

One of my friends old 95' Jetta Vr6 inched on a s2k on the freeway, everytime the s2k had to shift the jetta got about a 1/2 a 3/4 of a car then the s2k would gain it back top end and so forth.

The Jetta had the following:
100k plus Vr
cold air intake
autotech chip
autotech exhaust (no cat)

Somethin' to ponder :cylonA:

Dude if the s2k was loosing that much ground when shifting thats a really shitty ass granny shift...with a better driver it would have been a tie most likely!
On that note, us FD owners with sticky tires and stock rears end up doing the same thing just to prevent blowing out the diff. I seriously doubt it though, specially when those engines are so weak...
Who buys those to mod these days anyways??? Up here its mostly middle aged women trying to hold on to their youth(met one at Dunkin donuts yesterday lol) or the auto cross type.

The f20 is weak? Last month a shop hit over 500rwhp on a 100% stock engine and went 10.7 in the 1/4 mile. Yup, what a weak motor.

21K95RX7 03-10-06 04:19 PM

what were the torque numbers?

Fumanchu 03-10-06 06:40 PM

I believe it was 360 or 370.

wait a minute...i thought f20s were almost maxed out at stock specs.
how was it possible to get 500 rwhp on stock internals and no FI?

oh snap!!

..my brother beat a full bolt on S2000 when his SRT4 was stock. Meh.

EDIT: might be a shitty driver, who knows? still beat it :rlaugh:

Fumanchu 03-11-06 01:24 AM

A full bolt-on s2000 might have 10-15 more rwhp that stock. Bolt-ons offer nothing to that engine but more noise and a empty wallet. The s2000 you brother raced was probably in the 200-220rwhp range. Nothing special.

Here is a dyno plot for the fastest s2000 in the world I believe. They just landed themselves in the 10's on a stock internal motor. Also, keep in mind this is on stock suspension, no weight reduction and a stock rear end.

this is also with full gas tank who knows what temp outside and what psi in tires and so on always give .5 up or down to changes

rajahFD 03-11-06 11:29 AM

pretty sweet fufu, anymore details on that car? btw, how much does it weigh? even though it's a honda, i'd fix them internalzz because it won't last long stock and boosted ...i should know :(
R.I.P boosted B16, then i got another and said, well, i already have a quote on quote "hot rod" (my fd) sooo i'm going to sell the B16 and drop in my AT D16Y8 (VTEC!!).. i love gas.

Fumanchu 03-11-06 12:41 PM

A stock s2000 weighs around 2800 pounds. If you take the soft-top out, OEM tools, and spare-tire out, you can drop around 100 pounds.

but i still dont get it, how is it possible for a motor with stock internals reach 500 rwhp. i thought about the bolt on way, thats impossible, and you said it was stock, so no SC or turbo...
