Not trying to say anything here, but seriously why are your times so slow? Not that your car wouldn't whip my cars ass, because I know it would, because a 10.74 is crazy. But I would think your car would run 9's?

You obvioulsy don't know what it takes to run 9's. How many RX7's do you see out running 9's?

I'm extremely happy that I can drive my RX7 30 minutes to the track, run a 10.74 and drive it back home.

razorback 09-02-05 12:08 AM

wasnt soulassasin running 9s with his t51 setup? what would make his car that much faster than yours?

Alot more boost, bridge port, hks transmission and the fact that they don't run the 1320. I think they run the 1100 or something like that in japan.

I never saw any timeslip or whatnot.

Meiogirl 09-02-05 11:29 AM

judging by your avatar, if you toned down a bit, maybe youd be able to hit 9s. heck getting rid of the 2x4 might help.

rotorsownyou7 09-02-05 11:44 AM

A 460 whp RX-7 should run the same time as you did with a good driver. I would think a T51 at whatever PSI you are running would make a lot more power than that. On the website it says 475 at 15 PSI is capable!

Really? Have you ran a 10 second pass before? My car would have ran faster if I hadn't lifted.

Again, if you were familiar with drag racing. You'd know that 105mph in the 1/8th is a low 10 second pass.

Eric, there are a LOT of people on this forum that just bench/mag/keyboard race.....they dont realize how hard it is to make a clean pass. Many of them have never even been to a dragstrip, let alone have taken their FD down the quarter. Many with bolt-ons would be surprised to find how hard it is to get a clean launch, a decent 60 foot, and to just break into the 12s, let alone 10s. I've been around Ari and Steve long enough to know that a 10.74, with room still to improve, kicks some serious ass :bigthumb:

Crap, vid not working for me...seems like it'd be worth watching too!

I agree with Rich here...its a bit harder than it looks/sounds.

snub disphenoid 09-03-05 02:54 PM

What would your car run/trap if you got a perfect, clean run in? I was thinking something like a 10.2@~135?
