91 Turbo Vert Vs Chevy SSR
My 91 vert is pure stealth. No stickers, park bench wings, or any modifications to the exterior of my car. It IS loud though. I think a lot of people mistake it for typical fart can exhaust.
Last night, I was at a light when an older gentleman pulled up in a Chevy SSR. I looked over and saw the guy rolling his window up a little to block the noise. When the light turned green, I noticed that the SSR was matching my speed and when he hit it to pull away, I figured I'd show him what was up. I still have the stock BBS 15's (stealth) and had trouble hooking up through 2nd and part of 3rd but I was right next to him the whole time even though the ass end of my car was wild.. I had my boost controller running stock boost but waited for the rear end to catch so that I could hit the scramble switch. Once the rear end caught - I hit the scramble button and pulled on him. By the time we hit 100 I had him by a bus length. At the next light the old guy came up to me and gave me a big thumbs up! Mods that matter: Jspec engine with emissions removed. Full turbo drivetrain 6 puck unsprung clutch 3" TID HKS Intake HKS FMIC HKS F-Con with GCC Knightsports Hybrid 3" Exhaust Apexi AVC-R Solid mounted engine, tranny, and diff |
Nice kill. Good to know those SSR's are no threat. I been thinking about putting the stock wheels on for a few weeks just to mess around with as the super sleeper. :) I don't think the stockers will give me much for traction in any gear though. :D

Nice kill, about how much power are you putting down with those mods?
I just picked up a turbo 2 engine/trans, looking for things I can do to it, before I drop it all in my GTU. |
