Sorry but this is going to be long. It happened last night too. I am back in STL right now for Thanksgiving break and my dad and I just installed my PLX wideband. It is an awesome piece of equipment. Anyway I was running around this week with about 2 gallons of sunoco 118 leaded mixed in a full tank of 93. Also had my methanol tank with 50:50 methanol to H2O. Fast forward to last night.......

My car "team," F.I. Motorsports, (group of hgihschool friends) wanted to go cruise and I was down since it had been 2 months since I got to drive my car. We went down to a place just south of STL, MO called "Soco" or South County. We then pulled into the parking lot that was half full of mustangs and F-bodies. My friend in the 412whp Lightning was following us along with the 50 trim Talon TSi and an equally fast eclipse GST (FWD). Also my buddy with the M3, Civic Si, and SRT-4 were there too. Everyone gets out and forms a crowd asking who the two fastest cars there were. One of my buddies said the RX7 and maroon Talon. A guy about our age wanted to race us with his 98 Chevy Camaro that he said, "It has minor exhaust work done." We later find out that wasn't the case. So we agreed to go from a stop which I really wasn't into but my buddies Talon would do good. We get on the highway, 5 lanes wide, and all of the 30 other cars block off what little traffic there was. This was at about midnight. Also my setup was strong that night except for one thing. I was running my 9s spark plugs and with those combined with the methanol, I get bad breakup sometimes. The first run I was only running 15 psi too.

We line up but its like everyone was confused. After the race he thought we were going from a roll. Me and my buddy thought that we were going from a stop. We are going like 15mph and my buddies Talon starts break boosting and then out of no where the camaro takes off. So we both hit it and the talon falls quickly. The "race" was from 20mph to about 110ish. He put about 3 lengths on me but he got the huge jump. We all turn around and meet back up. Now everyone is going crazy and talking large amounts of shit. They say they didnt jump, we say they did. I have the video to prove it. So I say lets run for $40 and immediately his buddy says lets make it double. So I step away to talk with my group. I told the kid in the Talon that he doesn't have a shot and he knew it too. Then I call over an old highschool friend that was in the F-body group. He has a Z28 and he knew a lot of the people over there. I asked him what the guy was running and he said he didn't know because the guy was just some random guy. After a lot of arguing we all decide on some 40mph rolls between me, the talon, and the camaro (before all this all i knew was that he had a LSI).

I turned my boost up to 18psi. We line up again at 40mph and I do the three honks and we are off! We were side by side no joke. The talon fell back quickly. Whenever one guy would shift the other guy would catch back up. So we would sit there and pull 2-3ft on each other and thenn the other guy would gain it right back. We shut down that race at about 150 and he had 1 car on me.

We line up again, last race. empty road ahead and very straight. Three honks and we are off. 40 mph roll. Same thing happens but when i shift into fifth, we both stay on it. This time I have him by 1/2 car at 150 but we keep going. My windows were half down and damn it hurt. Around 160mph he catches back up and we were side by side. And then I start inching on him again. At 175mph with the Speedo Needle practically buried I let off and had him by 1 car length. My camera man caught a look at the speedo to verify this. Now I let off first because we were going 175mph and that was fast enough. Right then there is a crown vic way up the road but we are going so fast we start sucking him in. I slam the breaks and slow down to 65 as fast as I can but camaro guy wasn't albe to stop as fast. As soon as he passes the crown vic cherrys and berrys go on and my heart stopped. The guy starts slowing down in the camaro and I dont know what to do. He is then pulled over and I drive by "casually" but at the same time scared as hell that he is going to pull me over too. Anyway I get off at the next random exit and park behind a McDonalds. All of the chaser cars were so far back that they didn't see the cop. My buddy in the lightning was filming us from behind and he topped out his truck at 140mph and we still disappeared into the darkness because we were so far ahead. Anyway they all get to where the camaro is pulled over and freak out too thinking it was me. We all meet up in the McDonalds parking lot and schill for about 20 minutes and then when we go to leave 4 cops pull up and block us off telling us not to move.

They check our IDs and everything, asking us what we are doing here. My RX7 has FL tags and they were asking me all kinds of quesiton. I told them that I was visiting my parents for the holidays. Anyway turns out that McDonalds called the police because they thought we were dealing drugs. They let us go but before we left, one of the 5 cops turns to me and says I know what you were doing and I suggest you leave and go back to IL RIGHT NOW. I said Yes Sir and went home. Later that night my crew is at my house at like 2:30 AM and I get a random call and its the camaro guy. He said the cop walked up to the cop car with the radar gun reading 152MPH!!!!!!!!!! He said him and his buddy made up a bullshit story about how there was someone chasing them with a gun, road raging and everything so they got spooked and tried to out run it. Somehow the cop bought it and that is why later they pulled into McDonalds too looking for the "gunner car." He told the cops that it had IL tags with random numbers which isn't even close to mine.

Then he told me that it was a full bolt on LS1 with a T56. He basically has every mod but spray or F.I. He was also on 315 drags. He said his car was a "Factory Freak." He said when it was BONE STOCK IT RAN A 12.58..... WOW. He said with his current tune and mods he should be running 11.1-11.2 based on other cars he has run. He also gave me huge props cause he said, "that was the loudest and fastest import I have ever raced." It really was a good race cause we were neck and neck the whole way. Anyway video will be coming later this week when I get it edited back in FL.

BTW under boost my AFRs were between 10.5 -10.1 my 9s plugs sure did like that :(

You were probably racing (270/Telegraph/Koch RD) where I was cuffed/shackled for racing that 700 HP Supra. You have to be careful racing there, especially on thanksgiving weekend, cop cars ever mile. If you're going in race in SOCO, it's best to do it on the Illinois side of JB Bridge. Not many cops and you have some nice sticky concrete. Drive to the Illinois side and look for all the Rubber/VHT marks on the highway. I've seen many cars yanking the wheels out there so going from a dig isn't a problem...

I am laving to go back to FL today so I will try to get the video up tuesday or wed. night. Eric, the race was on 55 S just south of 255 down in Arnold. Its kinda funny to be "kicked out" of one state into the next one. I think the cop knew what was up, they were younger cops and car guys as well, but since they had no "proof" it was me they told me to get out of there ASAP.

serious story there. Getting radared at 152 is no joke, Well at least here in Ca, ur ass would have been chained up and thrown into the nastiest jail for a good couple days. There is new law getting passed here that if u engage in any street race u are sent to jail for a pretty long time. DOnt know how long.

Well I have Pinnacle Pro Plus v10. I am pretty good at editing (see my other vids), but I dont know how to blur certain parts of the screen. Anyone know how because you CAN DEFINATELY see my plates and the camaro's plates. Anyone know????

I use Premiere, so I can't help you there.

BTW man, if you are worried about your plates, it would be nice to first take care of your sig and avatar. :)

Well just timed it precisely in Pinnacle and here ar my times:

40mph to the top of 4th gear ~145mph : 11.5 seconds

40mph to 175mph : 27 seconds

I was break boosting to about 10 psi.
The above times were with mild-medium breakup because of my 9s spark plugs mixed with methanol.

Ok, I played around with pinnacle and found the blurr option. I just did a quick blurr and I am currently uploading the small version to streetfire. Tonight after work, I am sending the large file to someone to host it.

only thing i would say is that no bolt on ls1 is low 11s. suprised u didnt eat him. damn man have u dynoed your car? maybe he has heads and cam which isnt bolt on. even then it would be hard to get low 11s unless he has very aggressive setup. Never the less this kind of depresses me to see one of the most modified fds around run kneck an kneck with a bolt on ls1.
