Absolutely. I had to make my own brackets for them though because the "L" shaped piece (that mounts the seat to the rail) didn't give enough adjustability. I made the holes longer so we can shuffle the seat side to side. I'd say I have a fingers width between door and seat. And the pass side hits the tunnel only if the seat is adjusted anything less than 3-4clicks back which honestly is asking a lot if you ask me considering I don't know anyone without legs lol
I'll upload my pics later though.

The one pic looks like its touching but it's not.

I forgot I also had to add to the existing rails because they weren't long enough.

.....again. Sorry for the crappy cell pics. Lol

BAMF RX7 11-02-12 12:23 AM

Sorry they're huge. Idk how to shrink them

BLUE TII 11-02-12 02:39 PM

Nice work getting the Vios III to fit.

Bride's list of seats that fit the FD with the Lowmax system are only the ones that fit their Lowmax criteria of seat centered to the steering wheel.

Not a big deal to many as surprising number of stock cars don't have this feature and I have heard very few people ever complain. Brides other rail systems do offset the seats to fit a wider range of seats in a given chassis.

Lowmax= Halo product= less compromises

BAMF RX7 11-02-12 02:45 PM

Thanks!! I was honestly worried about having the seat off center causing the drive to be weird, but honestly it came out perfect. I couldn't be happier. Making my own bracketery honestly made all the difference in the world. It's fully adjustable now. (Height, tilt, side to side, front to back) all just with a little bit of material and about an hour of fabrication. Well worth it!! After reading threads about aftermarket seats and fitment issues I'll admit I was worried. I do think however more seats will fit if people take the time to do a little fabbing rather than expect a "plug and play" install.. As we all know, very rarely do things "plug and play"....

Just saw this. I really like it, not to mention the ability to run radios and IMSA.....anyone have this?

You can't go wrong with Stilo, although I'd get the closed face one.

Sorry to derail this thread...but you should really read this and change the way you've mounted those belts to the cross bar. http://www.schrothracing.com/sdocs/2...structions.pdf

Good job making your brackets and getting those seats to fit really well, but please don't track the car with the belts mounted like that.

On topic, I previously used my Arai motorcycle helmet for track days, but I had to upgrade to a Snell 2010 SA helmet this year. I went with the Pyrotect air flow closed face model. The fit and finish isn't up to Arai standards, but it's still pretty good for a helmet of its price range. I've been very happy with the comfort and how it held up to the sweat I've poured into it.

BAMF RX7 11-21-12 10:52 AM

This was my first time threading those harnesses. I just kind of guessed lol
Thanks for the info, I'll go change that right now!!

Flying_solo 11-21-12 11:30 AM

I agree with Smokey and after you have threaded it once or twice it becomes pretty easy if you have to change the length.

BAMF RX7 11-21-12 02:18 PM

I used the link he attached and fixed it. Thanks again!! I honestly just ran it the way I assumed it was supposed to be. I didn't even think to double check.

Thanks again guys!!

Smokey The Talon 11-24-12 08:59 PM

No worries. There's a lot of bad info out there about how to set them up and it ends up making them unsafe. Follow the schroth setup and you'll be good to go.

Here we are 4 years later.

What are people wearing these days? Is there any certain brand helmet one should stay away from?

Needing to get a SA2010 or SA2015 helmet for track days. I have a touring model so low profile helmet would be nice.

DaveEstey 03-02-16 08:35 AM

I'm running a Zamp RZ44C this year. I've spent several hours in it so far and really like it.

Johnny Kommavongsa 03-02-16 08:51 AM

Not a bad looking helmet for $500. What did you have before and how does it compare? I like how the Zamp RZ44C has maximized air flow system feature.

DaveEstey 03-02-16 08:56 AM

I had a Pyrotect entry-level SA helmet for 5 years prior. $250ish price point. This one is far lighter and the construction quality seems higher as well. The Zamp also has available earmuffs, which is nice with an uncorked rotary.

Ah Pyrotect, i was looking at this one last night, Pyrotect Pro Sport Helmet

Do you think height wise the Pyrotect and Zamp are the same height? i have a sunroof so a low profile helmet would give me a little more room.

DaveEstey 03-02-16 09:22 AM

I can compare tonight. Gut feeling is that the Zamp is thinner in every direction.

LargeOrangeFont 03-06-16 11:34 AM

Nice info on the Zamp. Do those scoops come off easily, specifically the one on top? I need a new helmet here shortly.was looking at an orange Bell sport, but this looks like a nice option.

I too would like to know if it is shorter.

My HJC seen on the left isnt a very tall helmet. It's also fairly inexpensive. Seen next to my Arai which is taller and big $$.

^ have you got to use the HJC much? How do you like it?

LargeOrangeFont 03-07-16 11:11 AM

Those are both Motorcycle helmets right? Not SA rated?

Johnny Kommavongsa 03-07-16 11:16 AM

Not sure if this is the same one or not but it looks like this HJC is SA2010 approved
HJC AR10 II SA2010 Helmet

ZoomZoom 03-08-16 05:11 PM

The Arai is a motorcycle helmet but the HJC is not. The padding is much more firm in the HJC compared to the Arai and it's also about 1/4 the price.
I've wore it 5 or 6 times on track. Works fine. No issues.

HJC AR10 II SA2010 Helmet

Correct. This is the helmet model and it's a motorsports helmet.
