Edit..."Whoa" vice "Wow". WTF!

Awesome Dave! Can't wait to hear how you like them. Do you know when your first track weekend will be?

Dave McLaughlin 01-03-12 06:28 AM

Not sure yet Brent. Gonna start my "Hunt" today. I definitely want to make Road Atlanta. Also; I have a buddy in Florida who wants me to come down there and run Daytona ("Bucket List" track for sure). I think Chin runs that track and does HPDE; that would be my cheapest option. I will be getting my time trial license in Feb. with NASA @ VIR. I updated my harnesses and my beautiful Lady gave me a HANS device for Christmas ( I think she loves me...LOL). BTW; definitely like your video set-up on FB...jealous!

This kit has the thickest pads I have ever seen:

Not to bring up an old thread, but do you need the 929 MC to work with the stoptech bbk? Can you still get the same great brake feel with the stock MC combined with stoptech bbk (front) and RZ rear rotors?

Brent Dalton 01-20-13 11:20 PM

I think it depends on the car. I ran that setup with a stock MC without issue. Others have complained about an extremely soft pedal. You can always try it with the stock MC, if it is too soft for you, get the 929 MC.

I would defer to Brent on that since he's run this set-up with the stock mc. I was on a mission to get the best brakes possible within my budget. You could call Ray Crowe @ Malloy and see what he can get a re-manufactured 929 mc for. The call won't cost a dime.

929 is mandatory. with 38/44mm brembos

Myron, if you're looking at Stoptechs you should definitely consider these IMO:

Competition Brake System - SakeBomb Garage

Hope all is well bud :icon_tup:

P.S. I don't believe Mazda offers the 929 MC any more.... I have a brand new one sitting in a box waiting for install someday, I snagged one of the last ones. Your options are Napa, Autozone etc.
