SCCA Spec7 vs. NASA Pro7

Both sets of rules appear similar.

Being that I'm a noob and on the east coast, which would I have a better time in?

I spoke with a Spec944 driver at Hyperfest. She used to have a Pro7, but got rid of it because there were very few other drivers in that category... But then again, NASA is supposed to be more laid back...

I think the only differences are which suspension components get put in and which set of tires are used.

Since you are in N. Virginia, I would definitely recommend Spec-7 since you have a lot of drivers in your area. There is a Spec-7 mailing list at http://www.marrsrx7.com/

Good luck,

Does anyone run BOTH classes?

I guess I could just run HPDE events in NASA...

Pro 7 is virtually non-existant in the east. MARRS spec7 has a good following. Seems like an obvious choice.

This weekend is another SCCA MARRS event at Summit Point. You should come check it out. If you do, and want to chat, alot of the spec 7's paddock with each other. I'm the blue #6.

Also, wrakin makes a good point. You should join the marrsrx7 mailing list. If you want advice from the horse's mouth...
